You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I would like to see us sign him, he looks a good player, but you're right about it not being exciting anymore. It's become a running joke now. I just want him to go somewhere, even if not to us, just so that we can put this one to bed.

i honestly do not watch enough football bar spurs and italy so i really can't comment on ability but its either his club or him spouting some thing or another about this and that when in reality not too many have sniffed around him for that long or make serious bids for him apart from us.

For me we get him early or sack him off, we have wasted to much time on him when we could have looked closer to home and signed someone like benteke (just using him as an example could be anyone with talent really) and sorted out a problem position for us a while ago.

None of the reliable ITKs said he would join by 1st June.
He was never gonns sign by then, all business done early is the same stuff we hear every year, I'm sure 1 or 2 will get done but I'd be in no way suprised if we go into deadline day with gaps in our squad

“I know of Tottenham’s interest in me but I am happy to wait until the president of my club lets me know something official.
“I would prefer to play in a team that is in the Champions League, but the most important thing is that they share the same ambition that I have.”

He's just not that into us. It's like being in the friend zone with a girl for 2 years and still going back to be a lapdog.

Difference being, Henry made a bee-line for the goal with the intention of shooting whenever he received the ball, Ade doesn't do that.

Ade will pick the ball up while on the left and hold up the play then bring the ball back inside as we build up the attack, he doesn't play the way Henry did at all.

He doesn't indeed.

Ade doesn't shoot at all. (OK, not much. And for a striker, that's not good.)

I feel bad, I always try my best to stay behind players and to support them when they join our club. However i'm actually fed up of Leandro and he hasn't even signed. It feels like it's been rolling on for years and years and years now. Im sorry but that starts to make me think we are literally just being used in the hope that another preferred club of his comes in for him.

There are other brilliant players out there that we should be spending all our time on who would make a similar if not better impact to Leandro and would cost less and more than likely be less ridiculously frustrating to sign as well.

I am sure Leandro is a very good player, very talented and i'm sure he would do very well for us. I'm aware he is the number 9 for one of the best footballing nations in the world. However it does remain that he has only played in the brazilian league. I'm not knocking that as such but i feel it's valid. Whenever you hear Leandro talk in the media it's all about who would be good enough to sign him... i can't help but think that the question should be who is Leandro good enough for? As i say i'm sure he's talented as hell but prove it. Stop jerking everyone about and talking yourself up, sign for a good european team and prove it in a top league. If it's us, great. If not, just say so and we can leave you to talk yourself up some more.

I know i've championed Pablo Osvaldo on here for some time and people are probably bored of me mentioning him but he has scored goals in Italy, he has scored goals in Spain. he is a big strong forward, good hold up play, good in the air and he will score goals in England to. I actually think he is more suited to England than he has been in Spain or Italy. All that and he is available for less money than Leandro apparently as well. He can play on his own and would bring the best out of those around him with his hold up play.

If we are carting the wheelbarrow about again, i would also rather have Soldado than Leandro. Again i think Soldado is more proven. Plus, i just generally rate him higher.

I also can't believe when people post that they aren't sure David Villa is what we need... I'm surprised Villa would even consider us, and not because i'm pessimistic about our club, I love Spurs and i think we should be an attractive proposition to any player with their head screwed on but Villa is world class, absolutely world class.

I should add, It wouldn't surprise me if the latest article with quotes from Leandro is poor journalism or mistyped etc, but i still feel the same.

Am I the only person here that thinks this quote is positive that he's coming to us...

Obviously he'd prefer to play champions league but he's added that it's more important for the team to share the same ambition. I see that as him saying he's going to a team who's not in the champions league

This is just one big merry go round
http://www.setanta.com/ie/damiao-wont-rule-out-tottenham/?

Damiao won’t rule out Tottenham

Leandro Damiao says Tottenham’s failure to qualify for the Champions League will not be a factor in his decision whether to move there or not.
Tottenham have made two bids for the Internacional striker in the last 18 months, and though Leandro would prefer to play in the Champions League, he is more concerned that his future club matches his ambition.
“I know of Tottenham’s interest in me but I am happy to wait until the president of my club lets me know something official,” he told the Sunday Mirror.
“I would prefer to play in a team that is in the Champions League, but the most important thing is that they share the same ambition that I have.”
Damiao is set to feature for Brazil against England on Sunday, but has not been impressed by Roy Hodgson’s side..
“I don’t see that there is any reason to fear England at the World Cup,” said Damiao.
“Brazil always expect to win the World Cup – and even more so when it is being staged in our own country.
“And when you look at the nations who are a threat to us doing that, we don’t see England as one of them.
“Spain have dominated lately and Germany are clearly also a very powerful team. They are the teams who I think will be our major competition. I do not rate England to be anywhere near that level.
“The Premier League is one of the best in the world – but maybe that does not help England.
“It is a very rich league and clubs can afford to buy the best players in the world.
“Here in Brazil there is a big emphasis on developing players that maybe you don’t get in England.”

Does anyone know why the Mail Online has such an anti Spurs rhetoric? It's so strange, but literally ever article they have published has been overbearingly negative.

Just check out how they have interpreted the Damiao quotes just now (double blow!).

I don't even find it annoying. It's just weird.

I thought it was weird as well, Sportinglife/Sky Sports have the article that contain Leandro's quotes titled as 'Damiao won't rule out Spurs': http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/8753753/damiao-wont-rule-out-spurs

Seems the only article that seems to put the quotes in any sort of positive light.

Aren't those dicks at West Ham something to do with The Mail?

Exactly. It's painful for them to see us flourishing with some Portuguese upstart at the helm and not their pal. "Scandal!! Who does he think he is!!!" Coming over here....;)
