There's no right or wrong answer. It would be nice if people can get behind the next choice even if it isn't their choice(s).
Didn't say I wouldn't get behind them. Just don't agree that they are who we should be looking at.

I am coming around to that - sort-of.

But, really I think manager is the least of our worries right now. We need to sort out the squad the summer. We may need to take a step back, and so we don't need to replace/buy big money players - but we need an attitude transformation that will only come with new players coming in to work their socks off for the new manager.
This is exactly the reason why the wheels slowly started coming off after Paul Mitchell left, used to identify players with certain characteristics/traits and build the team.

It’s all so divided and clearly a mess at the minute it needs a repeat of Poch’s first season, whoever the new manager might be. Identify the bad eggs, get them gone asap, and refresh the whole squad (first team, squad players and youth/potential).

It’s all so annoying to see it play out when it was clearly going to go this way towards the end of Poch’s tenure.

It’s going to be Poch isn’t it?

Can’t see the timings working out any other way…

(For the record, I’d be happy with Poch, but Kompany is the one I want in - something about the idea is intriguing.)

Thought Conte was Levy's last chance?
Apparently not.
After Mourhinio Nuno and Conte anyone of the three would be a welcome change.
None of them worked out, but let's be honest most of us would have appointed Mourinho and Conte if it came down to it. The mistake was not backing Poch.

At this point, I’d welcome Kompany with open arms. The club needs rebuilding and a complete change of direction. We’ve tried the proven winners and it failed miserably - it’s a horrible fit with our club. The only player I’d love to keep is Bentancur, the rest can go, - even Kane, albeit reluctantly, if it gives us the money to rebuild.

Kompany is young, speaks great English, has won way more than anyone in our squad, plays attractive attacking football, and will see us as a step up. You cannot look at what he’s done with Burnley and not be impressed. I think so often we turn our noses up at people who are inexperienced or haven’t managed in the PL but who are we to think we’re above someone like Kompany now? The real question for me, is why the hell he’d leave Burnley, where’s he worshipped, to come to this absolute directionless mess, led by Daniel Levy.

IMO if it was going to be Poch, he’d be here already.

All of his managerial appointments have been bad for us with the lucky exception of Poch, who was his second choice...

Not quite true as I would class Jol and Redknapp as successful appointments.

However, I get your point in that Levy has been appalling hiring/firing managers.

Not necessarily. There was a thought that we would take a step back under Poch, but he was able to make the collective better than the individuals.

A good manager (and coach) could take a minor step back, to take a big step forward. A young team, full of energy and promise will keep the fans on-side for a season,
Yes. Ignoring the Nuno appointment who, lets be honest, we all knew would be an omnishambles the minute it was made considering the manner in which it was made, the last time I was thoroughly underwhelmed by a new man was when Poch was announced.

I'll take a repeat of that thanks.

Why does Potters name keep coming up still?

1. Ex Chelsea
2. Look at where he left Chelsea
3. Ex fucking Chelsea

I like Potter but I wouldnt have him just yet, and it isnt because of the Chelsea thing but whats with the obsession that because someone is ex Chelsea that he wouldnt be suited to us? The reason Cnte and Jose were not suited to us, wasnt because theyre ex Chelsea.

I would agree if we were begging to bringing in Terry, Lampard et al but we arent. Potter was at Chelsea for four six months.

One thing about Kompany is he's converted a dull Burnley brand of football into an exciting one. That's exactly what we need because we're honestly not that far off that brand of football.

The other thing about Kompany is that one would hope he'd know how to spot and coach the new centre backs that we so desperately need.
