The words of the Feyenoord Director and Slot saying “if my next step is in the Netherlands then I will have failed in the next few years” in regards to his next step..”next few years”.
But every single chairman whose manager or player has been linked with leaving says this. They are hardly going to come out and say “yep, he’s off” they want to maximise the potential compo they wil receive. I would have thought this was obvious?

“We havent received an approach” is pretty clear though isn’t it?

If the JN reports are true then this is heading to a predictable scenario where he eventually turns us down, by which time we’ve pissed Slot off by messing him around for too long and we end up with Rogers.

Donna’s plan all along perhaps?
This has the Conte > Nuno > Conte vibes to it :(

I think those hoping we are just waiting to announce our new manger once season ends are being optimistic. I very much doubt Mason would be making claims he wants the job if he knew someone was coming in.

It is unbelievable that we are in same situation we were 2 seasons ago, scrambling around for a manager. I would still put money on Rodgers if I was the betting kind.

we heard the same noise about Nagelsmann that we’re hearing now about slot.

And by the way, I’m DESPERATE for it to be one of those two..
Well ITK and credible papers saying we’ve been in talks with Slot, I don’t think the fact their DofF/GM has turned us down means Slot is off the table.

I just hope we have made our decision already and as soon as the season ends we move swiftly and appoint the new manager.

Give home time to sit down, start assessing the squad and identify new players so we can get them in quickly.

What we need is everyone in place for pre-season so our new manager has the opportunity to get his ideas across.

What we dont need is this nonsense of waiting til the last week of the transfer window to see who is left avaialble at a knock down price.

However, this is Spurs and Levy so I wont hold my breathe.
Yeah my main hope is that behind the scenes we've settled on Slot we're simply waiting until the end of the season to start formal negotiations with Feyenoord (perhaps at his request?).

Seems like we're in discussion with his people atm and the ITK seems fairly positive, so fingers crossed we'll see some serious movement after the 28th May when the season is done and dusted.

But yeah, it's Spurs so who the hell knows. Wouldn't be remotely surprised if it drags on well into June or we manage to spaff it up the wall for some stupid reason.

Mason is saying what he’s saying because it shows an aura of confidence to the players and media and he’s got nothing to lose saying he feels he’s ready for the job but he will know the reality is that we are looking to appointment someone else.

Sorry but I swear some just read into things too much and make stuff up to suit their own agenda.

For example Slot, we may or may not hire him but if we were to then we’d absolutely wait until at least after their final game of the season so he can enjoy their title win parade in their final home game.

It sounds like we’ve been making moves so let’s give it a few more weeks and see how it unfolds.

We all know the opposite is happening 😢

I don't think anyone believes the new manager is confirmed behind the scenes. Just seems like we're not openly negotiating with any clubs until the season is over so there will (hopefully) be some actual movement after the 28th.

It's just football speak, I wouldn't read much to it other than we haven't made an official approach to Feyenoord yet.

It certainly doesn't mean that 'our people' haven't spoken to 'his people'.

Think Bayern are too big and proud a club to do that. They'd rather suffer than so publicly admit they fucked up IMO.
Let's hope they (Bayern) land Poch instead 🤞 would rather duke it out over JN with the Chav's over the next few months than Poch go their.😢
