I actually love that he's making these pricks on Twitter cry more, let's hope he makes them all look like even bigger mugs than they already do.

So people shouldn't express their opinion on a spurs forum. Weird.
Yep, that's exactly what I said - don't ever express any opinion.

It just tickles me is all - hope it's OK for me to express that?

Edit, to clarify, what amuses me is that some seem to want a pat on the back for it. I sort of take is as read, that if you care enough to be here then of course you'll get behind him - anything else would be really odd.

Spurs Twitter is quite funny at the moment. Ange is either Pep or Nuno, no in-between.

I'm very much in the hairy Pep side. I think he will be refreshing and nourish the club with a positive style of play and mindset.

Hope its done quickly and we can get players in / out.

They're just expressing an opinion in the same way you've just done. I feel the same, I wouldnt have chosen a manager from the SPL personally. But now he's here it goes without saying he gets my full backing.

The bloke seems extremely self aware and tells it very straight, which will be one thing to enjoy as everyone from Poch onward has had a tendency to be very strange in pressers (though I suppose Mourinho could at least be good value at times before it all went to shit). Will be nice to hear what seems to be some up front honesty as we haven't really had that since Harry and Jol.

I really don't want to hear that we played well when we were total dogshit anymore.

Supercalafragalistic Ange Postecoglou
He's built just like Alf Stewart and kicks like a Kangaroo-oo
He'll deck you outside Tobys when he's had a roast or two-oo
Supercalafragalistic Ange Postecoglou
Not sure who Alf Stewart is but I like the tune. Imagine the whole ground singing "Um diddle diddle, diddle um, diddle ay!"

By the way I love your avatar with Nuno's hair and beard reversed.

Not sure you can say that considering he was comfortably first choice in the original poll. I think there are a vocal minority that 'don't want to go back' whatever that means but I think he would have been the most popular choice both on here and with the fans in the ground.
Yea fair mate at the start of all of this a lot of us liked the romantic idea of Poch back but over time and once we knew it was unlikely I think a lot of people changed their minds and/or accepted that starting a fresh was also probably an equally if not better idea for the club.

Lets give the guy a chance, if it all goes tits up and the team is struggling, we go again with another coach. We are all Spurs fans who have seen it all before. I for one will never stop supporting the club whatever shit we are in.

Why does the fact it’s only a 2 year deal fill me with the vibe that they don’t really believe in this appointment and they’ve given him a short contract just in case 🤦‍♂️ Really hope he gets properly backed like EVERY manager we have deserves

Two years with an option gives Ange sufficient time to implement his plan and hopefully impress. If he’s successful then no doubt the 3rd year will be activated and a new deal discussed. Whereas if he flops, with a 2 year deal the club is protecting itself from a substantial pay off.

I believe Pochettino only got a two year deal at Chelsea so maybe that's the way coach contracts are going these days. Let's be honest most of them don't stay much longer than that anyway.

Just hope some of our toxic fans doesn't make too much of a noise to stop this happening
Even if they do we won't listen, Gattuso thing was different.

Twitter keyboard warriors will moan about any manager we were going to hire aside from probably Naglesmann, ignore them.

Tbh I bet anyone we brought in would be given the same. Levy has been burnt too many times recently that I don’t think he would even commit to Pep beyond 2 years. Plus there’s an option. Personally I just read it as Levy being aware of the reality of the situation.

IF he's the chosen one, he's not who I wanted or expected but you take it on the chin and support both the man and the process.

Levy simply cannot afford for this to fail. You'll get a few people making excuses if he does but the naked truth of the matter is that Humpty Dumpty simply cannot afford to have a great fall again. The natives are restless, pitchforks are out and if it goes tits, there won't be much sympathy for him because he's left the door wide open on that with the Slot/Nagelsmann thing. There are two or three natural candidates available and to not get one of them (supposedly because of differences in how he wants to operate), well, it'll be seen as a massive failure on his part if this doesn't come off.

So COYS, fingers crossed and let's see what happens. I suppose :D

On the positive side, this thread is only a couple of days or so away from oblivion. I am moist.

While it might be tempting to commit to a big long contract after the Conte debacle I do think that a 2+1 deal suits both parties quite nicely.

I do, however, think it's important that we commit to extend the deal earlier, or offer a new contract if he does sufficiently well in his first season.

Thankfully don't get the vibe this will be anything like the Conte situation in which we were clearly in a standoff over his contract for the best part of a year. He's just so fundamentally different to Conte - hard to imagine that situation arising again.
