Please explain: from where does this faith in Mauricio Pochettino arise?

People keep saying he deserves or needs to be given time.

I feel this is more due to Poch being the 'right man, the right place, at the right time' as opposed to there being an actual belief in him as a manager.

We've had years of chaos and constant manager changes, it just seems when we got (the latest) seemingly young, progressive manager most of us decided this is the one we should see give patience to.

In short, the fan base have had enough of the turmoil constant managerial changes brings and it just happened Pochettino is the manager where it was seemingly decided it should stop.

But what if he is a bit of a dud manager? Which there is a fair amount of evidence for. I'd rather back a manager at my club based on past evidence of discernible qualities as a coach and a tactician, not due to buck a trend.

I'll personally give him until Christmas next year but I've really not enjoying the majority of our games and with the squad he has at his disposable... He shouldn't have been relying on the heroics of a handful of players to mask abject performances.

Fingers crossed the players he wants and hopefully brings in can transform how his philosophy is executed on the pitch but I'm not holding my breath.

It is obvious now that getting rid of Sherwood was a big mistake .

It's like people feel the need to dislike him as a sign of their devotion to Levy .

I cant lie, alarm bells aren't even close to reaching a crescendo but they are ringing. There's as much needs changing in his head and how he sees the game as there is in terms of improving our squad.

Lets see how things are going at the end of this calendar year though.

Having been firmly in the pro Poch camp for most of the season, I must admit that I'm starting to lose faith now. My hope, though, is that what we're seeing now simply is tiredness. We have too few players the manager trusts, and what happens then is that these players get worn out, which they clearly are. That does, however, not make up for many of the decisions (or lack of) made by Poch in recent times.

If push comes to shove, I wouldn't mind Warburton.

I am a little concerned. I don't think our squad overall is good enough and he's worked miracles with some really average players.
I just don't understand why he is persisting with Bentaleb, Mason and Eriksen. It obviously is too weak.
I believe he's a good manager and a good man and I hope we stick with him, but the squad needs improving.

He's even stopped putting youngsters on now. Eriksen has been woeful for 2 months yet starts every game.

We play the same awful tactics game after game and are easy to play against.

We can't defend.

95% of the games this season have been terrible to watch.

I can only liken him to christian gross. He's as bad a manager as him

Now this is quite frankly bollocks. Don't be daft.

Said it at the time, replacing sherwood with poch was a mistake.
We needed a experienced manager and got rid of one 6/7 out of 10 inexperienced manager for another.
We would be doing better now with sherwood in charge IMO , although he had to gain experience he showed/shows a lot more adaptability than pochettino

The main area of concern is defence or the fact there isnt one whether it be individual errors or lack of protection its shit.
But i would not mind so much if werent scoring or getting beaten narrowly but thats not the case when we lose its complete surrender no guts at all.
And yet poch was a top defender in his day but cannot get this team organised properly, its a shambles and the pairing in midfied is too weak Mason is a squad player and nothing more yet stambouli can get nowhere near the team what a farce.
Liverpool had a terrible defensive record last season but still did good because they scored so much. I wouldn't mind conceding this many - if it were because we are playing full out attacking football and scoring/creating tons. We are not even close to that.

The defensive side is a problem, the attacking side is a problem. Nothing really good right now. No progress. And that's where Poch is accountable.

The problem with poch is that he gets an easy ride from a lot on here where others didnt why?, because so far he doesnt look the bright innovative great young manager that some think he is.
He has only one way of playing and sticks rigidly to it and cant make game changing decisions.

sometimes I just want to give him a hard slap. What on earth goes through his head is beyond me. I think he has done an okay job so far, but he needs to step up Next season, bring in the players he wants and weed out the players he doesn't. Huge season ahead for him and our club

I honestly believe that we deserve Pochettino. The majority on here and other sites wanted him and only him. So enjoy the frickin pain and suffering.

After AVB and after TS. a select few wanted a proven winner.....Benitez......FDB but no it had to be Pochettino whohas has won sweet f*ck all. You see it was his style of play which was way better than Benitez.

Until we have a proven manager who has won titles and not a EL cup then we will just keep making the same mistakes with our appointments. One thing is certain and that is when Levy pulls the trigger he needs to f*ckin TRIP on the bloody sword as well!!!!

For anyone who keeps saying that Poch isn't to blame because the squad is not all that good, please explain how this squad minus Kane, Mason, Bentaleb, and Dier (who most here have praised repeatedly) and with Soldado, Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele, Dawson playing prominent roles finished last season with 69 points? That could be 10 points more than this season. Yet last season we had two managers who were let go, countless injuries, numerous players to integrate, and a far stronger league with players like Suarez and the likes of Everton playing very well. Shouldn't Pochettino with homegrown lads who fight so hard at least match the output of our supposedly shambolic 2013-2014 season?

The answer is simply that people feel churlish not backing him for an extended period after the swift previous manager changes

Most said, & Tbf most are sticking to the thinking that he had a pass this season & he'll be judged on next season.
