Please explain: from where does this faith in Mauricio Pochettino arise?

I honestly believe that we deserve Pochettino. The majority on here and other sites wanted him and only him. So enjoy the frickin pain and suffering.

After AVB and after TS. a select few wanted a proven winner.....Benitez......FDB but no it had to be Pochettino whohas has won sweet f*ck all. You see it was his style of play which was way better than Benitez.

Until we have a proven manager who has won titles and not a EL cup then we will just keep making the same mistakes with our appointments. One thing is certain and that is when Levy pulls the trigger he needs to f*ckin TRIP on the bloody sword as well!!!!

The Poll on this site was pretty much a split down the middle for Poch vs. De Boer.

For anyone who keeps saying that Poch isn't to blame because the squad is not all that good, please explain how this squad minus Kane, Mason, Bentaleb, and Dier (who most here have praised repeatedly) and with Soldado, Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele, Dawson playing prominent roles finished last season with 69 points? That could be 10 points more than this season. Yet last season we had two managers who were let go, countless injuries, numerous players to integrate, and a far stronger league with players like Suarez and the likes of Everton playing very well. Shouldn't Pochettino with homegrown lads who fight so hard at least match the output of our supposedly shambolic 2013-2014 season?

It's not either/or, as both are causative factors.

We have a talented but extremely unbalanced squad, and an extremely stubborn and possibly tactically weak manager who refuses to step outside of his comfort zone to try new ideas suited to make the best of said unbalanced squad.

Now this is quite frankly bollocks. Don't be daft.

:woot: Which bit?!?!

We can't defend.

ive probably enjoyed watching us about ten times this season.

Eriksen has been awful. One goal in 2015.

We literally play the same way game after game.

The answer is simply that people feel churlish not backing him for an extended period after the swift previous manager changes

Most said, & Tbf most are sticking to the thinking that he had a pass this season & he'll be judged on next season.

This time next year will be a better time to judge.

I maintain the majority wanted him. Nonetheless we are forced to support him and let him build his squad. I still fear the same results though.....next year this time, should he last that long, we will just make the next hot shot appointment.

Yeah & then no holds barred man. He better deliver. If he chooses wholesale changes no "he had a whole new squad" excuse again. He's failed to adapt to the players he was given, I'm sure he'll have the opportunity to switch it up a bit now & he must do what needs to be fine wgich is a top four challenge next year. &/or a trophy

The Gross reference.

I just see similarities. Disjointed play, horrible football, inability to defend, fitness based approach (remember when he had them running on a beach on the day of the game!), talented players (ginola) and struggling to get the best out of them etc.

Disagree, only around 10 % in the poll wanted him. He was well behind FEB and Benitez

I repeat again. You can't polish a turd. The players are just not good enough.

Does anyone think our current squad is close to the players Redknapp had?

The poll doesn't support that.

In fact, nearing the end of the season LVG was by far and away the preferred choice. When he chose Man U then it became 50/50 between fans who wanted Poch and fans who wanted FDB.

People keep saying he deserves or needs to be given time.

I feel this is more due to Poch being the 'right man, the right place, at the right time' as opposed to there being an actual belief in him as a manager.

We've had years of chaos and constant manager changes, it just seems when we got (the latest) seemingly young, progressive manager most of us decided this is the one we should see give patience to.

In short, the fan base have had enough of the turmoil constant managerial changes brings and it just happened Pochettino is the manager where it was seemingly decided it should stop.

But what if he is a bit of a dud manager? Which there is a fair amount of evidence for. I'd rather back a manager at my club based on past evidence of discernible qualities as a coach and a tactician, not due to buck a trend.

I'll personally give him until Christmas next year but I've really not enjoying the majority of our games and with the squad he has at his disposable... He shouldn't have been relying on the heroics of a handful of players to mask abject performances.

Fingers crossed the players he wants and hopefully brings in can transform how his philosophy is executed on the pitch but I'm not holding my breath.

Despite what some Spurs fans might say a manager given time will more often than not be a success.

Even a manager that is very limited and considered to be average like Pardew or Allardyce will enjoy success once he's had a chance to form a balanced squad and get them playing the way he wants.

Poch is no different to any of the previous managers we have had. Any one of them given time would have been a success but just so happens that many of them were sacked for non football reasons.

Give Poch time and you will see the results improve.

Spot on. Our squad is so average it's unreal. He's integrated some good young players this season.

100% spot on anyone who thinks we can get top four are deluded it aint happening nor with the new stadium either, this is our place.
Poch is a decent man but not top manager material he is taking on an unenviable task managing spurs.
As for FFP again its total BS nothing is going to level the financial landscape to allow teams like us to compete its a closed shop, we all need to get board and understand this and enjoy what we have.

You do know we got top 4 twice in recent years?
