OK, so a team full of nobodies, from a place in the country which only claim to fame is that a square in London bares the same name, has a fluke year and tops the league. That's just football, and maybe a little bit "Spursy". But it's not something that would negate top 4(3?) finish.

Ok, here's a hypothetical question then,(also posted in the Transfer Rumours forum), but I see Leandro Damiao is still available on a free. Probably not the player he was when Internacional were quoting £25m, or at least not in that form anymore, but since we're a bit light on natural striker options, would you take a punt on him on a 6 month contract with option to extend? Let him see if he can out the required work in to earn a longer deal, as a player with a point to prove, could Pochettino coax that form out of him. Only 26, so not too old. If he gets fit and buys into the team mentality, he could be an asset, strong physically, good finisher. If he just doesn't fit in, he gets released in the summer??

From what I remember of him in the 2012 Olympics football I'd say he's not the right kind of player for a Pochettino side at all. More like a Pavlyuchenko than a Kane.

:D

Like I give a shit how Levy feels :p

Envy, of course but that's natural. I wont lose any sleep over it though.
Not just Levy it's the rest of the board as well.
Certainly I don't feel that Poch would be sacked but I think there would be every possibility that Poch's contract will not be renewed and they would secretly look for alternatives, like what happen with Jol.

Staggering.

No seriously, that's genuinely astonishing.

No way am I biting. I leave the floor to you and your obvious mission to produce increasingly ridiculous statements and theories :D

Sorry, are you saying that if we finish top 4 and Leicester win, the board won't renew Poch's contract and will start looking for a replacement?

That's utter nonsense.

I'm saying there is a possibility, I am not saying they will openingly look for a replacement of course. This is a results business, it's a ruthless business. Leicester have raised the bar, the trend is that expectations go up and up.

If you don't think so consider how Jol was put under pressure to 4th place after a season where we finished 5th place for the first time in a long time.

That's good but there is no success yet, best case scenario is massive success and the start of a new era where we win trophies or it will be a bit of a let down, even more than last season I think we are in touching distance of glory. I can't bring myself to talk about success until the season is over. Poch has already turned from a hero to a villain this season. A lot of the media are basically glory hunters and parasites they will go with what is popular and then when it no longer suits their purpose they change as quick as a flash. That's why I don't pay much attention to articles bigging us up.

I'm sure the board have the intelligence to see that Poch is building something special for the future. They're not going to throw all that away because he finishes below Leicester for a season.

Mullers resides somewhere in here............

Did you see the reaction on here when we lost the first game of the season? Thats how quickly things can change. Of course nobody wants to talk about bad stuff that could happen when the team is going so well.

Poch does not have unlimited time, like I said he is ahead of schedule but certainly I think they will not be happy if Leicester finish above us. Levy puts a lot of emphasis on the skill of the manager

5:23 It's not just about finance it's about skill.

As I already said the form of Leicester will have repercussions at many clubs, not just with us, chairman are going to look at Leicester and think their own club could do better.

I would be disappointed if we lost the league to Leicester. Not because I dont think they would be worth the win. But because we are probably, and I use the word probably. Never going to get another chance to win the league like we have this year. I wont blame the players or the manager or the board. I will just be disappointed if we finish second behind Leicester. Or even third. That we could have won this league.

Next year.

Liverpool - whole pre season with new manager. probably expensive shiny new players. - Threat
Manchester united - Cannot and will not be as bad next season. will probably have a new manager - bigger threat
ManChester City - Pep Guardiola + oodles of cash - mega threat
Arsenal - still have money to buy a superstar. although the longer they keep Wenger the better - Threat

So we win this year. we might not win it again for another 10 years. but we have won it. again.

One question if Leicester finish above us or even win the league you don't think Levy will be disappointed?

Leicester is not a Arsenal, City, United, Chelsea Liverpool or even an Everton, they are a club with infinitely less resources, who nearly got relegated stealing our thunder.

I must make it clear when I say disappointed it's not really with the players or coaching staff as we are ahead of schedule as I see it, it's just a disappointment at the situation, mixed in with jealousy and envy.

The future yes there is lot of promise and it's the right direction but that needs to be capped off, otherwise it will be another false dawn which will only be remembered by spurs fan.

Don't you think City, Chelsea, United, Liverpool ect will be more pissed

Yes definitely, I did say that chairman are going to expect more but people just see my posts as having a go at Levy and put the blinkers on. I'm not singling him out as someone who will behave differently to other chairman who will be expecting more.

If Leicester finish above us this season, its because they bloody deserve to! It will be slightly disappointing to finish 2nd, to anyone, when we are in with a shout. But also, fantastic at the same time, because that will mean CL football and another shot at the title the next year.
We would probably have happily taken 4th at the start of the season and seen that as a success...

How should United and Chelsea feel if they dont make CL? Any worse if its us and Leicester who take those spots rather than Liverpool and Everton?

Imo, Ultimately, it would be much worse finishing 2nd to Arsenal than Leicester....
