So would I, I would even taken 5th place as success but I suspect like myself you would not take 4th place now.
I definitely would take 4th now, with a smile and a new spurs shirt with the CL badges on it (maybe not the second bit, but id be happy)

Gutted especially if Leicester make it.

That is where I disagree sure Arsenal are hated rivals but they have pedigree and resources that we don't have. Leicester have come from nowhere for them to win the league ahead of us after all our hard work, near misses and one trophy in 14 years, to me is a gut wrencher.

Like i said, if Leicester win it, its because they have deserved it, you dont fluke a premier league title!
Doesnt matter who it is, they will have deserved it. The table doesnt lie etc.
Therefore for me, it would be worse if Arsenal were to pip us to it....regardless of their 'pedigree'

Are you absolutely sure you wouldn't like to twist when we're just 5 points behind and see how the season pans out rather than taking fourth now?

I agree with you, still hurts to see Leicester do it though.
This season I've barely noticed arsenal I don't really care about them tbh except if we play them, I've mainly just focused on our development up until now.

Hey, i'm as keen as the next spurs fan to see how far we can take this. I'm just saying that i would not be 'disappointed' at 4th.

Leicester have been a revelation this season and everyone is waiting for thier form to drop off, which it hasnt so far. Still think they might face a slump at some point.

I still think City are most likely to win it. Theyve been here before and they have the ability to snatch it at any point...

Reality check.
If Leiceater do win the Premier League, they deserve, as do any team that win it.
It's all about consistency over the course of 38 league games, that's not something you can fluke. Yes, maybe you can't rise your luck if others are showing inconsistency, but ultimately you would still have had to be better than them over the course of the season.
Will they win, I don't know. Would I be pleased if they did, probably. Although obviously I'd much rather it was us, but the very fact between the two of us we are trying to shatter the historic monopoly of the big spenders, that's fantastic for every other club rather than the usual suspects.
Personally I didn't at the start of the season think we were in position to be challenging. For me, it was all about progression. Europa league spot last year, I wanted a cup run and CL spot this year. Fingers crossed we last the distance, then with a couple of minor additions, plus further development of our young sways, we go a step further next year. Pochettino at the helm, is the man to take us forward, and build a stable foundation for some lasting success.

Agreed.
Leicester have 14 games to play. If they keep their form, for what they did in back end of last season, its remarkable achievement. Having said that, lets not forget we have caught Leicester by 4 points in last 8 games, inspite of losing to them. Fingers crossed, next 2 games, we do catch them or atleast be within 3 points. If we do do that, I am sure in upcoming games , pressure will tell. Of the 4, someone has to succumb to the pressure. It could even be Arse or high spending city.

I'd invite Conor Mcgregor down to talk to the players, it couldn't hurt.

The invincible guy from Highlander?

Like it Mullers, outside the box motivational thinking, let's bring along Al Pacino's character from Any Given Sunday too.

The season is far from over. We should get top four this season. We'll never get an easier chance. We could even be in the title race. Again we'll never get an easier chance.

But it's way too early to be crowing about success or doom mongering. Fine margins are often the difference between success and failure. Between being revered as a club "legend" or a failure. I said this in August when we dithered badly in the transfer market and had a slow start to the campaign. I said then if we lose top four (or the title!) by one point then that transfer window would be seen as a disaster and Levy castigated. If this doesn't end up being the case then Levy will be lauded as holding his nerve etc. That's how fickle football is.

The key for us is Kane & Dier. Either of those get injured and we're f*cked. Because they're the two players who play a role in the team that no one else can adequately replace over even a short period of time. They stay fit and we'll be in with a great shout. One of them gets injured and we end up finishing 5th or 6th there will be people calling for Poch's head. Just like there were people calling for Redknapp's, AVB's and Sherwood's heads for only finishing 4th and 5th.

Let's be clear of one thing. The journey has so far been encouraging and enjoyable. But we haven't had success yet. Let's all keep our powder dry and give the waiting media no ammunition to use against us or Poch later down the line.

Haha no but Conor does believe he's invincible, he is a MMA fighter, he's like the Muhammed Ali of MMA, he picks the round and knocks them out. He 100% believes in himself.

Ronda Rousey believed the same.

I don't feel losing takes away from her achievements, she will be an even bigger star if she comes back and beats Holly Holm. Ali lost a number of times but he's still regarded as the greatest, people still want to be around him, the same with Tyson as well.

This is exactly how I feel as well. And the 1-0 defeat to Leicester at WHL may well be the game that hands them the title instead of us, which would make it even worse.

I still don't think Leicester will get top four. But then I've been expecting them to slow down for a while now and they show no sign. I think the next two games for them will decide their outcome.

On paper they seem to have an easy run in after the next two fixtures but momentum is a funny thing. If they lose against City and Arsenal then it may knock the wind right out of their sails. They beat one of them then I think we have to accept they truly are top four contenders and most likely to get it.

My personal opinion is that they'll lose both and also fail to beat West Brom (draw).

I thought their season would unravel when they went three consecutive games without a goal over Christmas, but they managed to pick themselves up again rather brilliantly.
