“Tweaks” sounds like compromise to me. With Ange we go all in. Risks are to be encouraged, not frowned upon.
There risks and there's something that goes beyond risk. That moment when Bissouma had a simple lay off pass to Ben Davies to enable us to move up the field instead of running it straight into trouble and three surrounding City players that directly led to their 3rd was completely unnecessary and there was nothing at all to be gained from that and everything to lose.

As Trix has said there is a lot of ground and and a wide margin of degrees between adopting an ultra cautious style and going beyond acceptable levels of risk for reward.

Ange has tweaked today though, albeit during the match, with the sub of Gil for PEH.
He also did the same with bringing in Skipp and Veliz in the previous game, changing to two up top.
I think he's quite capable of changing tactics during game, shifting things around a bit but his philosophy remains the same no matter what.

There's a difference between tweaking things and changing the entire set up and style of the team.
Pep, Klippety and SAF all tweaked things, as does Ange but their way of playing the game never changes/changed.
Beginning to seem there's no point engaging Trix at all about Ange, clearly decided he doesn't like the guy. Can only assume, because he's in danger of making Levy look good or something? Who knows. It is definitely tiring though.

I doubt Ange will say anything critical of Bissouma. What he tried epitomises what Ange espouses. He wants players to take risks. Safety first just isn’t his bag.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting a response but it does feel like there's an agenda at play because all he seems to be doing of late is criticising the bloke, when the rest of us are riding the crest of a wave.

Maybe Ange wouldn't pose for a photo or something?

I now fully see where you were coming from with some of your posts in the last window.

Times like these I’m reminded of what the great Danny Blanchflower once said: 'It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.’

At least Pep isn't demanding the game be replayed like some I can think of 🤔

Regardless, why do all the pundits assume Grealish would have scored. More like he would have lost his hairband and stopped to retrieve it.

Fuck sake, Haaland and City acting like the ref chalked off a goal. Dickheads!

Come on Spurs! Great result considering.

Those are just the times we're currently living at, everyone wants a claim for some sort of victimhood status.

I don't know whether it needs tweaks or not tbh, and time will tell. All I'm doing is pointing out to the poster I quoted that's what people are suggesting NOT that we have to return to no risk pragmatic football like he and many others on here are insinuating.

Every time there is any criticism of what we are doing there are a number of posters on here that start shouting about Conte and how we were playing under him, like that's the only alternative to what we are currently doing when it isn't. There is a whole range of in between park the bus and gung ho football.

Which is firmly where we were prior to us losing our two best CBs.

This narrative that we're some gung ho side only really started after the Chelsea match. In our first 10 games we conceded 9 goals. Of the nine, six were conceded in three matches (2 each vs Arse, Brentford & Burnley).

We haven't become any more gung ho since the Chelsea game, the quality of our defence has just dipped significantly.

Why are all the pundits assuming that Grealish would have automatically scored had the ref not cocked up?
Makes it a lot easier to generate controversy if you can chalk off a 'goal' rather than just argue that he might have got a shot away* ** *** ****

*If Ben hadn't been there.
**If the ball had stopped bouncing.
***If he wasn't still 35 yards from goal.

You forgot
**** if Grealish wasn't slow as shit.
He can't sprint as his calves act as air brakes.

I usually enjoy games when there is little expectation.

I am just looking forward to Ange setting us up to play good football and see how it pans out.
I maintain this view.

I didn’t think we needed the traditional centre back against City as their threat isn’t from set pieces or crosses.

Away to the best team in the league and probably Europe and we gave a really good account of ourselves.

So happy with the performance and result.

For all the abuse Skipp and Hojbjerg got, if they don't come on we probably don't get anything from that. Good work lads.
