Hojbjerg getting injured right at the end today was a real worry. Glad he came back on but I hope it doesn’t flare up later. We are screwed without him. I would rather recall Skipp than start Sissoko or Winks in his place.

Don't see Toby playing three in a row, so probably Dier/Sanchez. Fulham away > Palace at home, so Bale may start again with Lamela starting Sunday.

Didn’t see the game today so can’t say for sure but you’d have to think that being 3 nil up at half time preserved a lot of energy in the second half? So with that in mind I’d say start the same team and only change those feeling some kind of niggle or injury. Heard Serge and PEH picked up knocks?

You don’t have a performance like that and start talking about changing it apart from pure necessity. We’ve found the mix now keep it going. Many have been saying that we need a third goal scorer, now that we have two more, the first suggestions are to bench one of them.
Baffled so many people trying to change it lol especially bale ! It’s simple Jose asks bale if he is ok to play if he says yes you start him end off

Again, people seem to be shoe horning in Dele, why? Is it because he had two good games against Wolfsberger, a team that would not cut it in the PL, who gave him all the space to play? Lucas was very good against Burnley, and when he was taken off and Dele brought on, Dele did not improve our performance. I said this in another thread, but it seems that people liked the idea of Dele being on pitch probably because of sentiments, at the expense of in form players.

My team would be the team that started against Burnley as they deserved it to a man (no, I would not start Dele).

If Aurier is injured I would replace him with Tanganga (1st choice) or Sissoko (2nd choice). I now I will displease a lot but I do not want Doherty to start

Surely the key, injuries aside, will be managing the bodies of the likes of Toby, Bale, PEH and even Kane and Son. The latter two will want to play but I would like to see them get a break in the next few weeks.
I think that Lamela and Alli will come in and rotate with Lucas and or Bale. Other then that I just don't see how we can rotate the central midfield two unless, for example, we can get in a position where the Zagreb tie is all but over after the first leg.
Watching other sides around su where fatigue and injuries are playing a big part in their down turn worries me.

Same team as today

Pretty much. We have 3 days to prep for Fulham and should see our players up and ready for the game this Thursday. We need to keep the momentum going and pick up another win. If we get off to another great start, we can make subs in the 2nd half and try and reserve our energy where we can.

So same for Thursday and rotate for Sunday in prep for the following Thursday ? To be honest I wouldn't be too adverse to that. We must find times to save the legs of some of our players.

Plus, when they're winning and putting in good performances, the players always seems to find that extra bit of energy to keep going. I can imagine Son, Kane and now Bale are chomping at the bit to play vs Fulham and Palace. Also, we don't have any crazy traveling to do, so our recovery process will benefit from that.

Rodon in for Sanchez. The guy has proven over a consistent run of games he's not good enough. An ok performance against Burnley isn't enough for me

Would love to see Joe get a few games between now and the end of the season. I think he is going to be a very good centre back. And I think that area will get a "facelift" in the squad this coming summer.

Yes but he's had lots of bad games and hasn't improved. We were home to Burnley who played badly and didn't show up.

I wouldn't trust him against a good side where he would most likely fall on his arse again.

With that logic he may as well never play again. It's finally something for him to build on and a chance to actually gain some confidence. Let's see if he can now push on.
