I can't see Demichelis playing weds. Awful again yesterday at the back, think he played in midfield second half. Ade would badly expose him IMO.

We're playing at home against a side with a fearsome attack but a questionable defence, I'd go for:

Lloris
Walker Chiriches Dawson(Unless Vertonghen is 100%) Rose
Lennon Dembele Bentaleb Eriksen
Adebayor Soldado/Chadli

I wouldn't want to risk too many players coming back from injury and we have a pretty settled side, Verts would be the only player I would see as being so important we would need to play. They are going to score even if we play 10 defensive midfielders so we need to test their defence and score more goals than them. The side their fans think they're going to play is pretty attacking so we need to disrupt their game and put them on the back-foot.

My preferred lineup (If the recently returned Fantastic Four are healthy and ready to start):

---------------------- Lloris ----------------------
Walker ----- Dawson ---- Vertonghen ---- Rose
----------------------Sandro---------------------
Lennon ---- Dembele ---- Paulinho ----- Eriksen
--------------------Adebayor---------------------

Bench: Friedel, Soldado, Chadli, Bentaleb, Siggy, Townsend, Naughton

Apologies for optimism, but that side, if they perform to their ability can beat anyone. Manchester City included.

All said and done that's the team I would pick for this game - only doubt would be starting all three of the guys who have been out for a while.

so according to one of them a point away to everton, liverpool and arsenal would be a decent result but nothing less than a win at whl is acceptable

please spurs, please crush them.

..........Bentaleb Paulinho
Lennon........................Eriksen

Could go with Kabul in place of Chiriches, and Dembele in place of Bentaleb

I really hope we take this game to them. I have a feeling a result, any result could potentially turn our season around and really set us on a roll. Please Spurs crush them.

Lloris
Walker Vlad Verts Rose
Lennon Sandro Dembele Eriksen
Ade Bobby
Let's make it count

So Sandro has said he doesn't know if he'll be ready for City....

I would be surprised to see him start then. Bench at best I think.

If Sandro doesn't start we need Capoue. I'm really scared about the thought of Toure bulldozing our midfield and Aguero, as usual, taking the piss out of Dawson.

Nergredo is definitely out according to Bluemoon. That's a plus, only the small matter of Aguero and Dzeko now lol

In all seriousness, it does make me more confident. He's been sensational and the partnership he has with Aguero is the best they have.

Hasnt Sherwood already turned our season around and put us on a roll? 5 wins and a draw in 6 league games. Problem with Spurs is if we do win Weds, we will prob lose the next one!

Agree with this and I don't think Tim will risk players coming back from injury if City line up like this below. I think Tim will try to exploit their left side with Demichelis, Kolorov and Silva. That's their weakest point so I imagine that Lennon is a cert to start. Hopefully Walker is fit to play RB.

Unless Sandro is fit and I don't think 50 minutes in a friendly is proof of that then one of Dembele and Benteleb are going to have to put YaYa in a box. I dont think anyone has done that yet to be honest. If you can stifle City's main threats which are the MF two, Zabaleta on their right and Silva cutting in on the left - you have a chance. Because that's where all their attacks come from.

Hart
Zabaleta Kompany Demichelis Kolorov
Fernandinho - Yaya Toure
Navas ---------- Dzeko ------------ Silva
Aguerro

I'm not quite sure he's turned our season around as yet to be honest. He's changed our style of play and tried to bring back that attacking verve that is typical of Tottenham, and I'll give him credit for that. However we haven't really been tested against superior opposition as yet - aside from the arse (who found us out - I attribute that to the team not having quite yet adopted the change in ethos at the time) and yanited who, let's be honest, aren't exactly as ruthless as the united of seasons past. The city game presents an entirely different prospect to what we have faced so far which is why I say it has the potential to be a game changer for us with respect to the rest of the season. To get a victory against the highest scoring and possibly most formidable team in the country could realistically give us the boost in confidence we need to keep us going and clinch that vital top four spot.

If Kaboul and Jan would be fit I'd go with a Hoddle special:
Lloris
---Kaboul---
--Vlad--Jan--
Walker----Rose
Paulinho-Sandro-Eriksen
Ade---Bobby

good distribution from back, nullify aerial threat of Dzeko and have extra bodies at the back against Silva, Toure, Aguero. Paulinho and Eriksen driving forward with wing backs. Could change formation according to hows the game with Townsend, Dembs, Bentaleb

Personally dont think Sherwood will change the back 4. My guess he will start either Paulinho or Sandro.

My XI

Lloris
Walker,Chirches, Dawson/Vertonghen, Rose
Paulinho, Bentaleb, Sandro/Dembele,
Lennon, Ade, Erksen

Agree with that, obviously we don't know just how match fit all our returning players are, but I'd hate to see us start 2 or 3 of them, and then they have problems during the game meaning subs have to be used, but not for tactical reasons.
