Well that put the kiss of death on Banton...
He's another one with an attitude that I like. He rates himself, sort of the Aussie way of thinking. It's what a lot of our highly talented players of the past have struggled with.
this could be a good chase if Stirling stays in for a while. Campher looked lime he had some shots last game, this could be a close one.
Apart from the openers, the captain and their two spinners, sure, indeed it does.Shows the vast quality between England's main team and that one that played today.
I think me and @Spurs_Bear both have a problem with Murili. If you bowl with a bent arm at the moment of delivery you are throwing it. Simple as. But only Darryl Hair had the balls to call it in a match. The spin bowler with the best figures is murilitheran does that mean other spinners are not top class the likes of Warne / Laker / Underwood and many indian and Pakistani bowlers ? Of course not some are better than others but they are still great bowlers .
As for Broad he could go on and beat Anderson's wicket count it does not make him better or worse of course not just different .
So just going on stats alone is to my mind not the right way to judge if a bowler is world class . That time that Broad took 8 for 17 in that moment for me he was the best bowler in the world . He has had his moments where he has changed the course of a match and at times been unplayable . Thats not to say there are quite a few in front of him because there is never the less a player who has taken over 500 wickets should be rightly called world class altho there are more than a few better than him .
For me one of the best bowlers ever for England was John Snow and I think one of the greats . Do his figures bear this out probably not .
But when you take into account he practically carried the England fast bowling attack on his own as there was a scarcity of bowlers about in his time if he had two or three other quickies to share the load his figures would have been a lot better as he would not have been overbowled so often .
Phil Salt is a bit the same. I like him. Played for the Strikers last big Bash. Got that swagger even though he didn't set the house alite. He's another one with an attitude that I like. He rates himself, sort of the Aussie way of thinking. It's what a lot of our highly talented players of the past have struggled with.
I can think of at least one other Sri Lankan bowler who's action was suspectI think me and @Spurs_Bear both have a problem with Murili.
Every chance you can get, Lol.I can think of at least one other Sri Lankan bowler who's action was suspect
And here's some Trivia. Former England captain called for throwing - David Gower
First ever cricketer called for throwing was an Australian. There's a shock
