This is a very tenuous situation. A real "do we stick or twist on 16" moment for Levy. I think Redknapp played his hand very badly in the last few months. He refused to rule himself out of the England job, after the club had backed through his trial. Either a) he wanted the job, or b) he was hoping to use it as leverage for a bumper deal from Levy.

Levy never put one on the table (shrewd) and Redknapp's contribution to the last two years failure to achieve CL - when both seasons it should have been achieved - must have spread doubts in Levy's mind. He knows Redknapp's done a decent job, but he knows it could and should have been a little better.

This trip to UAE (or wherever) could well be Redknapp trying to leverage again. If it's true and he's there discussing a job offer then he's either there with Levy's blessing (overtly or covertly) or Redknapp's twisting on 16.

Players have come out to back Redknapp recently, and I do get the sense that they wouldn't be best pleased if he were to leave.

I think rocking the boat for the sake of it really wouldn't be a good idea. Hope he stays.

Wouldn't be bad for the squad on a free transfer.

As for Harry, I think he will be at Spurs next season as much as I would love someone young an ambitious like Rogers coming in

I had been hoping that he would go to England to be honest! The thought of someone passionate and fresh gives me optimism for next season. Would be great if this ITK turns out to be true and buggers off to UAE.

He's done a really good job but when it comes down to it it is all about him.

To be precise h is in qater,he wants 2 year deal we won't give it,h is fuked off we have been talking to other managers
Re 1 year deal, feeling is 2nd half of season unacceptbale board completely blame him taking eye of ball but 2 top 4 finishes in three years deserves another year

I don't believe this at all. 2 top 4 finishes deserve another year? That just sounds like a fans point of view and not a realistic chairman's thoughts.

I hope he does go to UAE and get a massive pay day. If I was him and ever read these forums, I'd certainly fuck off.

If any of this is true and Harry leaves, I honestly feel sorry for whoever takes over. If someone who has taken us to 4th, 5th, 4th and a CL quarter final gets as much shit as he does, expectations are only going to be higher, god knows what the next person will get if we only finish 4th next season. But it's ok, all they have to do is big Spurs up in interviews and everyone should love him.

Part of me hopes this ITK is true. Part of me hopes he goes to Liverpool and proves people here wrong. But then I hate Liverpool after this season's shenanigans, so I think I'd prefer UAE.

I agree, in case nobody noticed (hard not to) Harry finally turned me this season. I have backed him against the anti-Harry brigade, but this season his attitude, his tactics and his non-comittal cost us 3rd place. No doubt he was responsible for the way we played for the first half of the season, but I think its so naive to think that another manager could not get the same if not more from this squad.

I really would not mind Harry leaving and Rogers or Deschamps or Blanc coming in, even if it fails, because the potential upside is so huge it has to be worth the risk IMO

To be fair this sound plausable and understandable, but lets not forget, we were almost in touching distance of challenging for the title this year prior to Cappello leaving. It's highly unlikely that a similar situation would occur for Redknapp given his age etc. Had we continued in the same vein I'm sure everyone here would have wanted him to stay.

Facetious in the extreme but honestly these sort of posts annoy me just as much as the ill thought out bashing posts.

I'd be pleased as punch to see Redknapp go. He's 65 years old and has won an Intertoto Cup and an FA Cup in all his years of coaching. Not much really for one who many think is such a great manager. In my opinion he cost Spurs a Champions League spot this year. He should have been working hard for the Club - not another job and a possible knighthood. It's time he went and the Club brought in someone of vision, talent and integrity to make Tottenham Hotspur perennial Champions League participants.

Totally see where your coming from and can't say he doesn't deserve another year. However I have to think a new manager is more than just about 1 season. A new manager coming in is about the long term, we all know Harry isn't and he even knows he isn't. It's a case of now it a good time to break, get someone in who will be committed to the club because should Roy Hodgson have a bad Euros...the papers could be after Harry again.

We have been here before mate, as I said, I love it when Harry talks about the old players and the tradition at Spurs, but then he goes and says silly things like the club shouldn't be aiming for such things as the top 4.

We have all observed the tactical failings: non-rotation, lack of effective use of subs, no emphasis on set pieces.

The players obviously love Harry because he doesn't make them work too hard and is brilliant at bigging them up and motivating them. I think we have the talent and they needed that belief. But now we are at the point where we need someone with new and excited ideas.

This summer Rogers is gonna spend time observing Spain's training methods whilst Harry was gonna be a pundit but will now be at home. I saw Pardew at the Monaco Grand Prix at the weekend talking about how Newcastle and the Marussia team swap sports psychology and physiology methods and ideas (aside from blagging tickets off them!). I think this is what Spurs need, we are gonna have a world class training facility we need the coaching set up to use it effectively.

I admit its really harsh and horrible to want to axe Redknapp now, but thats life and thats football..please don't think Redknapp would have not walked out on us in Feb if the FA came calling.

I dont think people are questioning his achievements at the club. It's the manner in which he has conducted himself over the last 3 years. Firstly treating the fans with utter contempt and cynicism throughout his tenure, secondly the whole Modric saga last summer, finally the straw that broke the camels back, his handling of the England managers fiasco, which personally I attribute to being the fundamental reason we finished 4th not third. But more importantly shamefully prostituting himself for the England job while in gainful employment, a job where a chairman and club had stood by him during his travails with HMRC as well as an outpouring of public support from the majority of Spurs fans. The only thing currently that is his saving grace and keeping him in the job is his past achievements. But now without CL it just goes to show how crucial his lack of focus was, during a period we seemingly had an ussailable 13 point lead in 3rd.

I wouldn't say many people are criticising him for his achievements with where we finished but more with how he conducted himself. He's called spurs fans who phoned radio shows stupid, likes to remind us we've never had it so good and basically referred to us as 'they' and hardly ever 'we'. That's not including all the stuff that happened with the whole England saga. He could of easily come out and said "yeah, im interested in the job but i have a job to do at spurs and will consider it at the end of the season and will no longer talk about it".
It seems pretty obvious he went abit missing during that time of the season which could of affected us getting third. I'll be honest, i don't know what i would want the outcome to be as he has, afterall, got us some of our best finishes in recent years and would probably be hard to replace him with the budget we have. However on the other hand as a person he wind's me the fuck up, lol.

Honestly, Bomber, I've tolerated your mentalistism posts on here for decades  but you are in such denial about this. He did well for us, but he isn't the greatest manager who ever lived and he seriously fecked up during England-gate. He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!

Whether he is worthy of staying on or not is a matter of individual opinion, but we surrendered an emphatic lead like whipped litle doggies, and there is substantial evidence that it was because Mr Redknapp took his eye off the ball - accpet it, and feel the release seeping through your body (no, not in that way :eek::eek:).

I think some of you are missing the bigger picture here. Harry has done great for Spurs and that in itself has made us a better looking proposition for potential signings. At one point we were title contenders!
Harry and/or his agent handled the whole England thing badly but that don't make him a bad manager. Maybe his agent and aadviserstold him to play it this way to squeeze a better deal out of Levy (they do get a ppercentagecut don't they? so hhigherfees means more money for them) Some say he never refers to us as "we" but just Spurs, however that was still the case when we were 3rd and closing in on the top 2 but not many complained then.
AVB was the next special one but turned out to be the devil one.
I think we should stick with Harry...................well at least for another season, he deserves that

Yes he would have walked out for the England job and any job that would have been attractive like most managers and players, he isnt perfect but at the end of the day he has done a good job in his tenure at Spurs so he really does not deserve to be sacked.
