I think Lambert will be a success at Villa, I actually think he may over take Rodgers as the manager we are moaning about shouldda wouldda couldda in the next few seasons

I agree. I think Lambert's got what it takes to be a very good manager. Hope the Villa job doesn't taint him too much!

Quite possibly, luckily the prison sentence that is Villa should slow his career down somewhat! :D

Villa might not have been the smartest move for him because the last two managers have taken them down a pretty dark road with their lack of quality and style of play

But to be fair he's left with a fairly simply job of improving on their recent years at least because I'd say over all they've quite woefully under performed and a bit of wise investment and some decent management could see him actually enhance his reputation

I blame everything on Fulop. £80 million quid down the drain because of Fulop.
I hope you're alone in that. If any within the club think like that, expect more failure and self-fisting in a position of strength.

Other teams would loveeee some of our deadwood! Unfortunatelt mr levy wants top dollar for our deadwood and wants to penny pinch when buying stars from other teams. Maybe that's why sir Alex labeled DL as "different".

I'm not saying we should make a major loss on sales but it seems like DL wants to break even or make profit on our deadwood. How can we sell GDS and expect to make profit?! He never plays an has gained very little match experience while at Spurs yet we want to hold out for big money!

Get what you can for Bassong, jenas, corluka, nelson, GDS, rose etc etc and clear them out the squad once and for all... Also so it ASAP do we have time to snap up a few fresh talents.

I agree with the sentiment, but such is the nature of transfers, what you are doing is in practice costing THFC say 10 million pounds. Possibly more.

Then, we are in a situation where we have a squad of 20 players. Everyone in the world therefore knows we HAVE to make signings, so they throw another mill or two onto their prices. Quite likely this will cost us another 5m or more than theslowly-slowly-catchy-Belgian-Central-Defender policy that Levy uses.

We are simply not rich enough to lose 15m from the balance sheet every transfer window. The result can be stressful and emotionally draining from a fans point of view, but that's our choice and our attitude is under our control. Best to keep cool and let Levy make the best call he can according to the situation, I reckon. He normally gets it right.

When we have ITK on Fulop being a **** and how Lambert might fare at Villa I fully expect to see idle chit-chat about them in here. For about three posts, after which you'll probably start waffling on about the Chelsea fucking flower show or something about as far removed from the ITK you've been given as is possible.

I agree with everything you've said... But as i said above... I don't expect us to make major loss on any transfer! If we can breakeven or make a profit then FANTASTIC!

BUT if we're relying on clearing out deadwood before buying players then a small loss is to be expected. Surely it's more beneficial for the club to lose £5-£10 million in transfers but at the same time save £5-10 million in wages for players who we don't require at our club.

Wages per week:
Bentley £60k? Jenas £40k, Bassong £30-40k, GDS £30-40k, Gomes £40k, Rose £25k, Corluka £45k, Nelson £30k

£16 MILLION per year in wages for DEADWOOD is a JOKE!

So is losing £1-2 million on a player that we don't want at the club really that bad???

I wrote a long reply to this, but it was waffly and went into various maths showing how 310k per week even over 8 weeks saves us so little compared to transfer fees, so I'll save you that and ask the question that summarises that post:

Who will buy those players now and how do we make that club/person pay us even a slightly reduced rate for them?

Harry on BBC when asked about Erikksen. Implied that he had a look at him. Said he has watched Ajax a few times and have some "interesting players".

Sorry everyone don't want to read every post as watching the game. Have we got to the bottom of the goats cryptic?
