The way I look at it is in terms of types. What I want from my central midfielders is different options. I want goal threat = Paulinho and Holtby. I want the strong/destroyer type = Capoue. I want players with passing ability = Schneiderlin and Bentaleb. Dembele is a slight question mark but his ability to drive with the ball may be good against certain sides. Personally I'm not sure Carroll will make it but would give one more loan. Mason I like but nowhere near experienced enough, injury issues, a loan out is better for us/him and then reevaluate next summer.
The one that I think may go is Sandro. If Capoue or Schneiderlin were out I'm not sure he'd be the one to turn to and that's purely based on Pochettino's style cos I do love him.

It's 60 odd games. I think it's sensible to have this amount of players in squad. Also in the way Pochettino gets the team to play I'd rather let Lennon go and have Holtby as an alternate option in the attacking positions along with Eriksen, Lamela, Rodriguez, Townsend and Chadli.

I can't see us selling Dawson without buying a new CB. The only way I can see us not signing a CB is if

1. Poch is sure Kaboul is completely fit
2. Poch has immense confidence in Veljkovic
3. We're not selling Chiriches.

Don't like @Grey Fox info on a CB having to wait till Jan, but (and it is a huge ask)if Kaboul can regain form and fitness then him and Verts are a good pairing. Genuinley think we overlook the quality of that partnership if both consistently in form. The problem is I can't see Kaboul doing that these days....and there's no point in strengthening the team if we leave a major weakness in one of our most vulnerable areas...

I know for sure that the powers that be at COYS no longer considered him ITK in 2008. Don't know if that has changed in the interim, but I doubt it.
