Harry's first was it? (Defoe, Keane, Kaboul, Palacios?!)
Can't remember all the names and this isn't the thread for it, but Levy HAS shown that he is willing to back a manager with funds.

And look, assuming Soldado signs today, that's a €30m striker... LOOK AGAIN... 30!!!!!!!!! On top of breaking our record already on a midfielder from Brazil.

Until the Bale media circus hit full swing we were already beginning to chime in with this being one of the best if not THE best. It's just unravelling a bit. But anyone who thought the Bale issue wouldn't rear it's head this summer already were being hopeful at best. Someone was going to make an issue out of it.

Bets on which German club might be sniffing? Hamburg, Stuttgart maybe? Would strike me as the teams needing someone like Gylfi. HSV might even see him as a successor to VdV (when he retires, leaves, etc...)?!

Harry's purchases of Defoe and Keane continue to hamstring the club.

so what news is there about a replacement. Is Lamela even a remote possibility?

that would be good, but only IF we can spend the 100m on a time machine and go back to 1996 to get him.
I think it's possible I'll call my pal Marty McFly and ask if we can borrow Docs car Ronaldo9 in his prime is worth the hassle!

On a serious note! I can't wait for Soldado announcement and to see a decent striker in our shirt since we let Pavlyuchenko leave. :)

It's nice to see the latest ITK update from POTL coming out in support of the OP of this thread.

Yes, I shall allow the gushing adulation from the great unwashed to flow over me. Worship me you bitches.

Announcement still to be made, though I'm sure it's only a matter of time like Paulinho.

I'm sure i saw something last night somewhere saying DiMaria has turned down Tottenham??

He's turned down what exactly? A non-existent offer to play for us? I hope we got a letter. He could use invisible ink to save time.

What's this about Siggy then?

I really hope we don't sell him. If I'm honest, I think selling Caulker was a mistake

POTL is probably my favourite ITK, and I believe him an' all...

...But it'd be REALLY nice to get an Official Announcement round about now.

When it is finally officially announced, can we please remember how much of a massive signing this is. This is smashing our record fee (which has already been broken this window) for a world class striker.

If it wasnt for the Bale crap, this would be massive news.

Harry's purchases of Defoe and Keane continue to hamstring the club.

Harry's transfer spend total was slightly misleading I think. Bringing back Keane, Defoe and Kaboul was almost as much a case of installments due to us being written off as it was us forking over the money ourselves.

Re Bale - I wonder how much Adidas are involved in this potential deal. It's pretty common knowledge that Nike have thrown cash around at certain big signings at their key clubs in the past - Rooney at United for example.
Given Beckham retirement I'm guessing Adidas will be looking at Bale being the next major poster boy. In the Adidas Real kit that holds a lot more welly so I'll bet they are desperate for it to happen.
Maybe just makes Levy's position slightly stronger in terms of £££
