Oh the irony

AvB was sacked by Chelsea for allegedly trying to change too much too quick.

A big clear out seems to be occurring at our club, tearing the fabric out

Bale, Defoe, Bae, Parker, Huddlestone, BAE, Caulker, Dempsey, Adebayor

I am a bit concerned, where is the spirit going to come from?

Results.

There's one game that wasn't mentioned that we have BEFORE the window shuts. What is it? Arsenal, away.

His injury is more real than Rooney's and Suarez's were. They both played in the week, while Bale sat out.
I'd like to think so too but i'm not so sure any more. It's bloody convenient and the cynic in me wonders if it's all a sham because we don't risk losing an £85m deal through injury. A few weeks ago I was convinced he was staying but now I just don't know. I think for me, the slience from the club is now probably the most telling aspect of this whole saga. I know someone is going to say 'why should we say anything' but I really feel that the speculation has been that intense that if he were staying Levy would have gone out of his way to poo-poo the rumours.

Anyway, them's my onions on the thing.

Don't be concerned! Every player we have signed this summer is better than the players we've sold or trying to sell!

Spirit or no spirit. You can't hold on to players, who in AVB's eyes are not good enough!

Bale is staying but he's going
Real cant afford him but a deal has been agreed
Bale is injured but he isn't

Even Sherlock Holmes is confused. What the fuck are the rest of us supposed to believe??

Genuinely the only thing we can glean from any ITK is that something is going on that involves Gareth Bale. That is literally the extent we can believe.

With that, I sleep X

That's probably the most accurate ITK all summer

I know this is the ITK thread, but the Bale saga is a completely different situation to every other deal IMO. The only word we can take right now is anything off the OS. Whether that's confirmation of an agreed deal or a new contract or a Levy statement. We've heard so much conflicting ITK (just today) that believing one way or the other is nigh on impossible.

We didn't announce the deal for Capoue until the Huddlestone transfer was completed and that was for only a few million.

There is no way that Spurs are going to announce the sale of Gareth Bale until our targets have signed on the dotted line.

As JJ has eluded too in the past... Football is largely managed by a load of mouthy incompetent morons...

Chances of us keeping Madrid quiet about the record breaking deal they've just done with the primary goal of improving there brand by shouting about just how bloody loaded they are and aren't they so clever spending all that money on a single player so please sponsor us, buy our shirts, give us all the money you can which of course is all dependent on them NOT keeping quiet about it... Not a lot.

Don't think he'd play in the 2nd leg unless it was to get minutes before Arsenal.

I don't see why he shouldn't get half an hour. It's at home, and it's unlikely to be a fast-paced encounter. In fact, I'd say it's the perfect game to ease him back in before Arsenal(which he wont even play in, IMO).

Totally agree. I hope this statement:
"Every player we have signed this summer is better than the players we've sold or trying to sell!"
still rings true on Sep 3rd.

Spirit will come from Sandro, Verts, Mousa, Holtby etc. Judging by our youtube page the whole squad generally loves a good laugh and enjoys each other (apart from Walker, of course!).

I doubt Deofe would go to West Ham anyway. Dont they hate him?

After the season Adebayor had I expect him to be sold. Defoe had a great first half of a season and often has great spells like that. Thankfully we have Soldado as our top striker now so wont rely on Defoe to be on form all season.

Not to mention he's English and we need to try and keep enough homegrown players after selling Caulker, Huddlestone, loaning Livermore and looking like selling Parker.

Yep. If I were to base my onions on ITK i'd go insane. The injury and the silence are the only real clues and who knows? I might be well wide of the mark.

Can people stop suggesting Real Madrid and spurs have done the deal, did it weeks ago and that the clubs are being quiet so Spurs can make signings without other clubs know about our influx of money. This is bullshit (IMO ((but my opinion is best)))

1, Madrid have shown no class in their pursuit of Bale, or any other player they have ever publicly "wooed" why are we to think they would keep quiet once the player is theirs?

2, IF Madrid have spent nigh on £100m they would demand him straight away, so their medical staff can assess and treat his injury, and he could bed in with the other players. Also there is the shirt sales they would start making profit on.

Or they would demand that he doesn't play ?

I guess it depends how the 1st leg goes. If we're comfortable, which we SHOULD be, then maybe we can afford him some minutes. AVB is known for only playing players who have had training time in the days before matches. Depends how this 'injury' goes.
