An ITK mentioned 2 top players out, I thought one might be VDV. I dont think he fits AVB's system, slow and would be no use when playing a high pressing game. Top player but dose not fit the system.

Yep, Ryantegan mentioned it yesterday. Am worried now.:(

Now im worried after JJs tweet.
To lose Modric, Rafa, Daws and Hudd in one transfer window seems very risky...

There's been some horrible rumblings about VDV. I think there's something in this. And it's a little worrying the thought of losing Modric and VDV same time. We are so bereft of intelligence, and none of the likely incomings are going to give us the type of craft that VDV does.

I totally agree. If we sell VDV as well as Modric then we might as well call ourselves Aston Villa.

Lennon and Bale are very effective but have no craft or intelligence other than hare it down the line and try and cross the ball into the box.

Isn't JJ saying that the shock departure (VDV) isn't happening? Or am I reading this wrong

I would be devastated if we lost Rafa, more so than any other outgoing we've ever had.

That's how I interpreted it too. JJ saying he doesn't think it will happen.

JJ is saying he doesn't know if it will happen, he's certainly not confident that he definitely isn't going.

To be fair, Rafa's been quite clear in the press.

Van der Vaart told German newspaper Bild: 'I don't know. Actually, I want to stay at Tottenham. But in football you never know.

He said in The Sun: 'My place is at Spurs. I want to win the title with this club. Each summer my name appears in the transfer market.
'The race for the top four will be a total war from the very first day.'

Maybe let's not throw ourselves off any bridges just yet? He clearly wants to stay and I can't see that Levy has any burning desire to sell given how much deadwood he's already shifted and how he's already got a lot of things to do in a short span of time.

After all the excitement yesterday, I feel deflated now - really didn't want any disconcerting news regarding VDV.

Don't want to see VDV go, I think we need his experience while AVB shapes the team and the players get used to the new system. :(

I'm sure the club isn't seriously considering selling our best player (assuming Modric is gone).

We can't sell VDV in the same window as Modric unless we have 2 world class replacements that will come in. It would be suicidal! If it can be avoided, you don't sell your best players. End of.

I'm sure JJ said earlier in the window that VDV was very much in AVB's plans. Why the sudden U-turn?

He's the only creative passer of the ball we have left.
