Whereas I would prefer Wilson, I would easily take Deeney on loan if we cannot get anybody else. Because we already know what will happen if Kane and Son would once again be unavailable for an extended period of time.

His knee looks pretty shot after an hour so of most games I wouldn't want to be relying on him as back up, knowing our luck we'd have him and Kane unavailable at the same time.....

Troy Deeney as a plan B from the bench for the last 15 minutes or so would be fine but as a regular starter if Kane gets injured then not for me.

A club of our size surely can attract better than this.

Kane cannot play 38 prem games + max 18 Europa + 10 domestic cup games + all England games, this option will be getting a good number of starts.

The striker needs to be a viable option, surely players want to play elite level football they can’t all be saying Harry Kane is first choice I’m not going there

Fk no. Next.
Also if this is the best option our scouting network can come up with maybe we should be looking to replace them first.
Seriously come on ffs.

Would prefer Wilson, King and a lot of others but he’s better than nothing and it’s quite a funny signing at least.

Lets’s trawl our way through the various chat rooms of sites like these and come up with some tittle tattle based on comments. Might happen but probably not.

He's looked miles off it in the Watford games I've seen this season. Struggling to get around and really just spending his time banging into the other teams defenders.

I'd have been up for it a few years ago. I was at the game where they secured promotion to the PL and I was impressed by his all round play, he was all over the pitch, running the channels and really bringing others into play well.

He’s having knee surgery this summer. Signing Deeney would be like playing Ledley King in his final days minus the quality... disaster in the making.

The article sounds like a name plucked out of the air as it mentions a loan deal when he’s only got a year left on his contract.

He's had injuries and struggled for form this season.

I have said i'd like an experienced loan signing this season and to loan out Parrott and sign the young striker from wigan and loan him out this season. However I think this would be a step too far in terms of a stop gap signing. I think if we sign Deeney then we're putting a huge amount of pressure on Kane to play a lot of minutes and are asking for an injury.

Been calling for an option like this for ages - a kind of plan b or c. A big athletic guy to come on, run the channels, occupy the CH’s and make space. There are versions of this around in the lower divisions who would jump at the chance and be fit. Not sure Troy is that anymore. Needs a bit of pace.

No thanks, not at 32. There’s got to be a bit more about this club, even in the current climate.
