Winks is such a nothing player, for me.

Hes your classic 6/10 player that does nothing to affect the game. Doesnt score, doesnt defend the back 4 particularly well, doesnt create chances, barely makes a meaningful forward pass, gives away too many free kicks, and cant beat a man with a drop of the shoulder.

Hes essentially the epitome of this team at the moment.

Thought Winks had a good game today. Pretty much on his own in the middle against 3 big lumps playing for Watford.

Thought defensively, we were really good. The shape was good and the decision making was also. Similar to Liverpool last week. You can see that taking shape. And that's the base to build from. To be a Jose team, we'll have to get that right first. It's not pretty but the difference today and, say Brighton at home, was night and day defensively.

Offensively, we were poison I thought. Never really looked like scoring.

Let them have it, Jose. I love how he says it how it fucking is.

Oliver and VAR today were nothing short of a disgrace. Again.
Whilst he can have some complaint about about VAR, to suggest that we deserved to win that game is going too far. We didn't and neither did they, a draw was a fair result.

This is it. Like it or not we hit rock bottom and its about how we rebuild. This was a tricky away fixture looking at the form table. There were positives today.

- clean sheet
- defensive mistakes cut down
- less hoof ball, some nice interplay with GLC central to it
- no questions of commitment
- finished strong, fitness appears to be improving

A bit of magic or help from the ref today and we can win that game, not to mention being inches away at the death with the GLT. Unfortunately that magic isn't coming at the moment.

When you consider the players missing I think we did well. Need to buy a striker this window as that could have been the edge today.

Top 4 is long gone. It's all about the rebuild now. Grab europa and hopefully have a good run in the FA Cup. Let's build on this at put Norwich to the sword in midweek.

Absolutely and we as fans can either get irate that we're not living up to what could have been or we can get on-board with the rebuild and be encouraged week to week as we can see steps going forward. I'm focusing on looking for the improvements so that I feel we're going to be back with a vengeance come next season.

Remember everyone saying we got most of our tough away games out of the way first half of the season.

Bet you never factored Watford into that!
Thats because Watford were utter catshit until a few weeks ago.

On a positive note: Lo Celso did good today. Tanganga fortunately had a quiet game. Gazzaniga with a massive save.

not so good: Alli punching the seat. One can wonder if it was because of the sub or his performance.
Lamela and Son not at their best and Moura with a rather quiet game

He said that he had to go with no defensive player in front of the defence, because all other players available are offensive.

Called Winks a “link player” and not defensive.
Good, Levy has demonstrated that he's totally and completely reactive in the transfer market. No hope whatsoever of him proactively solving the problems that are staring us in the face, so Jose applying pressure on him publicly is about the only thing we can hope will spur him to action.

Dele should punch himself instead. He has been useless for a long time this season.

I wonder if this is him ditching the attacking he was talking about in order to tighten us up. In fairness we haven’t much choice if we don’t buy a striker.

Was a really poor decision and unfair on Jt. Annoys me when managers ask young players to play out of position when they've hardly any experience in their preferred position. Daft.
It's done to protect the player, a mistake out there isn't likely to be as costly as a mistake at CB.
There are literally loads of examples of young CBs being introduced into teams playing LB/RB.
It's not daft at all.

Fuck me, if you expected a loss here then where do you expect the wins to come from?
Good question! I based my thoughts on a loss today given Watford's recent performances and ours's and I wasn't alone in that either - 31% thought the same too. The point is we look disjointed, lackluster and don't look like scoring with any frequency - The Boro game was typical of our lack of finishing, as we should have been out of sight by halftime. The team needs a lot of investment, but we'll continue to run our powder kegs dry all the time ENIC is steering this ship in ever decreasing circles.

Can't believe we sacked Pochettino, one coach who actually wanted to stick with this mess. Horrible team, West Ham 2.0.
Poch did very well coaching our squad. But he was far from perfect. His transfer activity is proving to have been extremely questionable, under his methods and staff multiple players have deteriorated massively through injury, he was contributing to a feeling of malaise with some very negative media appearances (even openly considering resignation), and several key players had grown unhappy with his management. Perhaps most importantly, his tactics consistently failed to win us the very biggest of games in the final stages of cups or title challenges. That's not to say he isn't a good manager, or won't also do very well else where. But I think the days of managers staying and succeeding for multiple generations of squads are over, and he certainly had not demonstrated that he was the man to oversee such an overhaul. I'm not sure whether Mourinho will prove to be the right man for the job or not, but I don't think we had much choice but to change. Poch was the manager who took us from being West Ham, to the verge of greatness, and right back down to being West Ham 2.0 again - that latter part cannot simply be ignored with nostalgia goggles.

Mourinho can do that all he wants but we know it will have no effect on levy.

I think a top notch DM would solve some of our current issues and bring back the confidence in the team.

Home games against mid-table and worse sides. Jose's had three such league games so far and won them all, alongside cup games against similar opponents in Olympiakos and Middlesbrough. That's where sides looking at a finish between 6th and 10th, as this Tottenham side is, secure most of their points and their advantage over the bottom half.
