The state of the delusion here is absolutely next level...

I love the talk about our 'ceiling' - forget living in the past, they're now clinging onto some fantasy future as well! I guess by ceiling they're talking about wage ceiling because in football terms we have a better team that is also younger..so our potential looks, in the words of Larry David pretty pretty good

From Rawk:

Personally don't rate Spurs that highly ( not sour grapes) but their defensive record is top draw and their recent home record has surprised myself . Have a nice balanced squad full of men not boys, but don't find them good to watch .

Wouldn't be at all surprised if Tottenham equal our number of goals today. Bournemouth are wretched at the back.

Sadly I cannot see anything other than a Spurs win, though I would love to be proved wrong.

Spurs have their entire attacking front line back hardly a surprise. I wish we had that luck with injuries.

Spurs getting away with fouls again, Son and Walker in dangerous positions grappling and body checking. They get away with a lot defensively- suppose its the Argentine style!

Bugger Bournemouth they were up for it when they played us, as usual cave in against everyone else.

I don't think they were that good at Anfield. We just didn't play well at all, don't think it was a case of them raising their game.(y)

People actually Believe this nonsense? We should of battered them at Anfield. No excuses

The ref gets the assist for that goal. He was giving Spurs every decision.

Incredible to think we got 1 point from Bournemouth this year. Their defence is easily worst of the worst I've seen at this level.

I wouldn't write them out of the title race just yet, Chelsea grind results out but Spurs are making it look easy. Would be interesting if the gap was cut to 4 on level games.

Spurs solidifying 2nd place. Out of reach for us and everyone else

If this Spurs team are the 2nd best team in the league it just shows how bad the league is. This team wouldn't have been near the top 4 a few years ago. :poop:

Think that's rubbish. They're a quality side.

I don't think it's rubbish at all. Imagine this team against the Man U or Arsenal teams of old. They're get absolutely stuffed.

I didn't say they're weak. But they are solid at the back and have a good striker. Their midfield is nothing to write home about at all.

Why do so many find it difficult to give credit where it's due, this is as good a Spurs team I can remember. They've competed for the title twice in the last 2 seasons....

They are a good side with no real weaknesses, but no real outstanding areas either. I kind of agree it wouldn't come top 4 a decade ago.

here we go with the usual Evertonesque Spurs are shite shouts....
grin.gif
....so small time....give a bit of credit where it's due eh

Can't explain it but would much rather Chelsea win the league than spurs. Even though i hate Chelsea more.

Got to give spurs credit though fantastic team.

Just give credit where it's due, Pocchetino has built a solid side without spending multi millions like some clubs have

Looking at the talent they have in midfield at the moment, Eriksen Alli Dembele especially, I can't see many teams of the last ten to fifteen years utterly outclassing them when they hit top form.

Add to that the organisation and work ethic that Pochettino has instilled, I think you do them a little bit of a disservice.

Them vs us with us playing our best and them playing their best, we would twat them.

They're a title challenging team, they probably lack the experience and belief but they're improving. They have been without all the defenders for periods this season, Rose has been out for quite some time now I think.

They won't be a title winning side until they win a title. They play fucking lovely football, front to back. Pochetino has done a great job, better than any SPurs manager for decades. He'll be gone this summer, possibly to Barcelona - if that happens its thoroughly deserved, but tough on Spurs fans

Lovely football ?

Agree. I'd have Rose, and the two CBs, and a couple of their cmfs in a heartbeat. (half the team then, what about the goalkeeper and Kane)

Don't find them good to watch to be honest. Just solid and manage a game very well

Basically this, they're just ahead of us at the moment. What I would say is that our ceiling is higher once we get this right.

Spurs finished with 70 points last season. We should beat that this season so we are ahead of them in conparison.

Very confident we will be much closer next season , may take another 2 to level off and start to move ahead of them under Klopp

Absolutely. Definitively see us taking a couple of extra steps in our development. As long we can cope with the extra matches we'll be around where Spurs are now or better for sure.

We are just a bunch of hypocrites because when we challenged all rivals fan said that the league was rubbish e.t.c and we are doing the same for spurs now. We are also including ourselves in the rubbish because we are behind this spurs team?!. They are a very good side and we are a good side with room for improvement.

Liverpool fans have for decades been lauded for being knowledgeable and appreciative of good football whoever plays it. I remember watching Dynamo Tbilisi at Anfield and the Kop giving them a great reception for playing some outstanding footie. But maybe that is dead now, because I see far too many fans just rolling out the nonsense that every other team is either shit or lucky, or "they have a deeper squad than us" - as if having a squad is a new idea.
Its depressing - especially today.

Harry Kane: Only the third player in PL history(when football started) to get 20 goals three seasons in a row. Henry and RVN being the other two.

All the credit we are giving spurs but they have been lucky in the fact they've not had all their best players out at once like we have.

Would be good to see spurs play teams who aren't shite. why does it feels like they haven't played big teams for a while.

I don't think I've heard Hugo Lloris' name whole match today.
They are such a collection of ****'s arnt they? I'd be shocked but as it's them I'm not in the slightest, wankers one and all

The bit about old Man Utd is a decent comparison. Also a bit concerned about Wembley, myself..

however, this... this is Ralph Wiggum levels of stupidity.

I'd understand it more if it was a blue-tick Twitter blogger looking for hits.
I just don't think playing at wembley next year will be anywhere near as bad as people imagine. We're playing the best football in the Prem over the last 2 seasons. It will have nothing to do with the stadium. Our players will still play good football. If anything, we'll have the advantage over every team that plays there, having gotten used to it.

Yeah, we wish you'd had our luck with injuries to all your key players. You'd be mid table now.

I would question their intelligence and their memory... Only a month ago they were laughing when Kane was injured so how could they forget that moment?

Besides, their issue isn't fucking scoring, their issue is defending...

I actually genuinely feel sorry for how dumb they are.

I expect it to be a bit rusty at the beginning and then we'll get in full swing. I don't think it will derail the season at all in the way some pundits claim.

From Chelsea's Shed End after our match..

Maybe I'm been paranoid but I distinctly remember us gaming to play after our title chasing rivals a lot in our title runs. I remember 06-07 United seemed to play before us pretty much every weekend, 07-08 same again and I also remember when they made us okay Mon and Thurs for ZTV while United got Sat-Sat and we dropped two massive pts against Wigan. There's more but I don't wanna seem like some conspiracy theorist lol

We only play before Chelsea once now before the end of the season. Last season Leicester played before us every time in the run in. And this Chelsea **** thinks there's a conspiracy against them?

The FA Cup will have a big influence on this. If we win the Cup our players will love playing there next season.

From the Dirty Leeds (!)

This might sound strange coming from a fan of 21st Century also-rans Leeds United. But, for all their recent woes and the chaos that characterises life at Elland Road under Bates, GFH and Cellino, Leeds remains a big club. The expectations are still there, the voracious hunger and imperious demand to be up there with the best. At some point, those demands will be met – because the expectations and desire of the fans are what, ultimately, define the size and potential of a football club. Leeds have all that – Tottenham simply don’t. A cursory scan of their Twitter feed, when Spurs capitulated last season, was ample illustration of this.

I was really expecting to find anger, dismay and deep, deep hurt among the Spurs Twitteratti, at the careless throwing away of a once in a lifetime chance. It wasn’t there. I thought too – equally erroneously – that there would be angst and an abiding sense of betrayal. I based this on an empathetic knowledge of how I or most other Leeds supporters would feel – how it would leave us bereft and fuming to see such a rare opportunity passed up. But then – we’re Leeds, and these people were merely Spurs. There’s a big difference…..

Don't even know where to start. Yes, they've won the title more recently than us (so have Forest and Villa) but that aside their history is nowhere near ours. 1 more title, but only 2 domestic cups in total compared to our twelve, no European trophies compared to our 3, and more seasons now outside of the premier league than in it.

At least Forest and Villa can point to winning the top prize in Europe when they want to swing their balls about club size compared to ours. Leeds are just a moderately sizeable club from a county that should stick to cricket.
