I guess wearing red can have a profound effect on mental health.

I’m a massive advocate of peoples mental health….but in this instance……..and it’s not restricted to our close neighbours……

Yep. Reading this thread and it is no surprise that we are the most abused team online.
To be pedantic, we weren't the most abused team online. That was Man Utd by a fairly large margin.

It was that of tweets about any one particular club, the team for which the highest proportion of those tweets were abusive was Spurs.

When Arsenal were a machine 20/25 years ago, you just had to accept that they had far, far superior players to what we had at the time, and the best thing you could hope for was that a Henry, or Bergkamp would not be replaced and their period of superiority over us would end.

Fast forward 20/25 years and flip the scenario, and very, very few Arsenal fans can bring themselves to accept we have better players than them in numerous positions (and I'm by no means saying this Spurs team is of the quality that their invincible team was), in fact, they go to extremes to persuade themselves that our players are average and theirs are generational talents despite any evidence back it up.

I guess wearing red can have a profound effect on mental health.
When you start supporting a team just because they're successful like so many Arsenal fans obviously did, it must be hard to accept they're now shit, that's not what you signed up for.

I wouldn’t have sent Sessegnon off, but I think if Marriner shows a red card on the field, VAR doesn’t overturn it.
Some very similar tackles yesterday. All yellow cards. No VAR intervention. Sessegnon’s tackle was just late. Not two footed or studs up. Just caught KWP bottom of his ankle in making the challenge.
Opponents fans may want sending offs but I didn’t see any tackles over the weekend that warranted one.

And that becomes toxic with the expectations- I think its an even bigger problem for Man Utd- how long will ten Hag get as a long-term project manager...?

I love the comment about teams not playing into our hands - I think they will find most teams try to not do that against any side.

I was never this bitter when Arsenal were better than us - I just picked on West Ham instead. Why is every Arsenal fan some undiscovered tactical genius?

reminds me of a Paddy Pimblet interview where he says its astonishing how many MMA fans try to give him advice on twitter on fighting styles, weight cuts and how he should be generally.

Armchair fans know best!

If we're going to be entirely honest there is one simple reason why we get so much grief from them and so many other clubs right now...Even though we are arguably and objectively the 3rd best (with Chelsea) team in the league and not far pushing the quality of Liverpool and Man City everyone will continue to say we are average because we have no silverware to show for it.

We pushed for the title two years running and that will be easily forgotten in a few years time because we didn't capitalize on that quality we had.

Its an easy take to have to say "Spurs are average" if by the end of the season we still have no trophy.

England is full of people who sadly have pretty grim lives during the week, and then go all-out at the weekend. The number of people who seem genuinely happy is staggeringly low, especially among the demographics who come to games. It's a long term, worsening crisis of mental health and general well-being, not alcohol per se. I don't think it's remotely unreasonable to want a half-time beer, just a shame the service is still so slow.

We've had a drinking to excess culture for centuries...

Fancy writing that on Sunday! A day after we score 4 goals, none of which came from Son or Kane, aside from one assist.
What a plonker.

fuck it, I actually really like Grealish and he gets way too much stick.

Would have been incredible if we signed him back in the day
