To follow up on @ryantegan 's thread asking if our entire team was full of underrated players, who do you guys think is the most underrated player we have?

I figured I'd leave out the new transfers + upcoming youth players (basically everyone who has yet to play for the first team) to keep it simple. Although I could definitely see some arguing for Pritchard/Alli/Trippier/Onomah etc etc.

I also chose to leave out some of the obviously highly rated players like Eriksen, Lloris, Bentaleb, Vertonghen etc. Which I'm sure will annoy at least one of you goobers out there. Complain away.

most underrated on here i'd say are mason and dier.

most underrated by other fans/media from that list is probably rose, though they may slowly be turning.

Not sure any of them are under rated! Going to go for Rose though, as he was one of the ones who finished the season well.

Kyle Walker

I had to do this the entire 13-14 season and subsequent transfer windows with Danny Rose, I made so many posts defending him as a quality player, and lo and behold, in new circumstances, injury free with a fresh start, he was one of our three best players last season and maybe the best LB in the Prem. I think Walker is a victim of similar circumstance and it's really annoying and upsetting at how shortsighted fans are at times. The amount of hatred he got on here and Twitter and wherever else last season was shocking. You have to remember that he was out of match play for SO long and missed the entire preseason under a new manager. Even moreso, Poch demanded a very fit squad, you have to wonder how much endurance and stamina training Kyle could have 1) maintained under rehab 2) built during his comeback to the team phase. We have seen him play very well in the Prem and Europe for extended spells before, we know there is a solid, physically monstrous RB there when he is fully fit. I think if injuries don't bug him this season and he can overcome the bad one he's had (this is the big if, injuries ruined Kaboul for instance), most of you slagging him off will be back to praising him.

Vorm would be number 2 for me (ironic?)...people seem to panic whenever Lloris is out...this is one of the best keepers in the Prem, let alone #2s.

I came into this thread to say something similar. Walker gets my vote.

Don't get me wrong - when he's bad he's very bad - but it's lazy to focus on the negatives all the time. I don't disagree with the likes of @Bus-Conductor when he says that Walker is not an intelligent footballer, however Walker at his best is a great asset for any squad. On a good day he'll get the basics right throughout a game, which doesn't seem like much to crow about. But when you couple doing the basics with his pace and general athleticism, it provides an extremely useful dynamic to our play.

Certainly by other fans. There's very little between him, De Gea and Courtois. but many would have you believe he's not even the third best keeper in the Prem. I genuinely think we'd have finished 7th with Vorm in net instead of Hugo last season.

After reading the Dembele transfer thread, I'd say him. At least among people in here. Twenty people making up a retarded charicature of how he plays and feeling pretty insightful.

Chadli, was efficient & effective and cos there was no noise, no one noticed all the goals & assists he racked up or the balanced Left now with Rose & Chadli. He could easily play CAM or CF too

I've gone for Chadli.
I think for £7m we've got a player who's absolutely perfect for a left sided right footed attacker.
He has pace, power, can dribble, head, hold the ball up, cross, score and assist.

Yet quite often I see people saying he's not doing it. He clearly is and there's plenty of goals and assists to prove it.

£7m for Chadli and he's done more for the team than £55m worth of Soldado and Lamela and yet some people give them more vociferous support.

Lamela. I'll admit it took me longer than most to really understand what be brings to the team, but in the second half of last season he was definitely starting to show his worth. He needs to add goals to his game for people on the outside to really notice him.

I'm rather surprised Lamela is getting voted, I would say he is certainly not under rated at all. Think about it .
