Re Lamela: 100% agree that he really started to make many fans re-think after his 2nd half to last season. I hope he picks up right where he left off.

I voted Chadli because even though fans underrate him, I underrate him too. He needs to add a bit more of the little details to his game, but he could have had an even more amazing season last year if not for the tragic loss of his father.

Think Walker and Mason are underrated. Walker on form (and this admittedly takes a lot of matchtime) is an absolute beast of a defender. Mason gives us a real intent to our midfield play that we've not seen for fucking ages.

I think Vorm deserves a mention. He is one of the better keepers in the league and a strong option to have as a second choice.

Dier: had to deal with an off form Walker and Verts all last season and little midfield protection and was good, our best defender after Rose last season.

Rose: not Spurs fans but fans of other teams don't yet relise he is very good.

Mason: nice player, perhaps we need a proper DM as Bebtaleb and Mason partnership sometimes lacks dominance. Mason to rotate with Bentaleb.

Do you mean you have underrated him (past tense) as oppose to underrate him now? To continue to underrate him is acknowledging that he is better than what you think, which does not make sense!

I wouldn't say Walker is underrated at all, just if anything he's fairly well rated and a large portion of us had missed him in the team whilst he was injured, he came back out of form and playing badly though so many let out their anger at that but I seemed to see it/interpret it at people complaining about his form not how good he is so don't wanna go for him.

Chadli for me. He does the job and there's very little said about him from both fans and the media. Considering his goals and assists for last season, the lack of noise made around him is quite weird

Yeah it doesn't make much sense.

I think I still do underrate him, because I acknowledge that he ought to be in the starting XI due to his production, but every time I think of putting him there, I want to change the formation to 4-3-3 and leave him out.

Mason. I just think he is the only player in the first team last season where people, think he can improved upon by or prefer more or less any other starting CM in the league. I don't think any other player in our team receives that kind of treatment. Especially in their first league season as if they can't improved after suffering from burnout having played the most games he has ever played in a season since the age of 18/19.

For example I'm not a huge Walker fan, though I love his commitment and think he can improve, and I wanted the RB spot improved upon but there still aren't many RBs I'd have over him in the league.

Seemed to me like Mason was Pochettino's most important player last season. Was the one who could best translate Poch's style to the pitch. Bentaleb might look a better player/prospect, but get the feeling Poch has Mason ahead of him in terms of importance to the team.

Ye it was clear from preseason he felt that Mason understood and suited what he was trying to do.

I reckon 90% of posters on this forum would feel uncomfortable going into next season with Mason as one of our starting CMs, which sadly tells me how underrated he is.

By our fans, Mason. You just need to see how lackadaisically our midfield plays without him. He adds intent and gets our cogs turning. What we saw last season was his first Premier League season, in a position that's new to him. On his day, he's brilliant, and with time he'll get more consistent.

By other teams' fans, Rose. He was one of the best left backs in England last season, by far our best defender. But people still act like he's shit. Chadli a close second.

Danny Rose and Eric Dier are under-rated by non-Spurs fans. Rose was probably the most consistent performer this season across the whole campaign and Dier did excellently for his first year considering he's not a right back by trade and has never played in England, desptie being English (and what a cross on the lad!).

I think Mason's done very well to get into the team after his injury problems but I'm just not sure if he's going to get any better than a squad player. That isn't a bad thing to be fair, as he'd make a very good squad player and being a Spurs fan you know he's always going to give 100%. He's definitely better than our other young Spurs fan in Townsend. Poor Andros just can't quite seem to figure it out. Has the raw talents but not the brain, I'm afraid. Even Lennon was more of a handful at a young age.

Lamela does get stick from certain fans, but he has a big following with a lot of fans who think he will come good. Chadli is a little under-rated considering the amount of goals he's scored and how much people wrote him off after a few games when he joined us.

I have gone for Dier. I believe he will be a top notch centre-back.
