If anything, Mason is a tad overrated tbh.

I went with Dier.

By who? Barely anyone would be happy going into this season with Mason as a starting CM for us. A lot more people would be content if Walker, Lamela or Dier were starters for us.

Seems that anyone who feels Mason is good enough to be given a shot as starting CM or thinks he can improve on last season is overrating him

I couldn't decide between Chadli, Mason, Dier and Rose.

My vote went to Mason. As the season developed, so did his play. He was becoming more and more aware on the pitch, giving the ball away less and less. He really added some bite to the middle. It's the first time i've seen that for a while. He also suits Poch's system very well. So whilst I do not underrate him, I think most fans do as @IGSpur points out above. There are pages and pages of transfer gossip about a DM, in which it seems Mason would be the casualty. He brought a lot to the team and it wasn't on him that the defence was so poor.

Rose, I am guilty of underrating. Long may that continue.

Chadli too. I think his family bereavement had a detrimental impact on this season, yet he was still coming up with goals. THink he'll be even better this season. Fast, strong and skilful. One to watch.

100% Chadli for me, non-spurs fans laugh when I say he was brilliant for us last season and then I bring up his Goals and Assists numbers and they're always totally shocked. I guess it's because he doesn't score "worldies" or have unbelievable pace and isn't a "beast on fifa".

Tell them to watch a few clips of his performance vs Chelsea. If Poch can get him to play like that week in week out, we have a 'Beast'.

So how does this work. The one with the least votes is the most underrated? If you vote for a player it means you rate them but think other people don't. So if lots of people voted for them it means lots of people rate them, so they can't be underrated. But what about if we get a player with few votes because no-one rates them, that doesn't make them underrated necessarily, they could just be shit.

Now you've confused me. I'm off to itk.

To say someone is underrated - first of all the player should have performed & should have gone unnoticed.
I really can't make a case for Lamela. He has been good in patches but I wouldn't go to the extent of saying he is underrated. If anything, he is being overrated.

Chadli is my most underrated player - Even Spurs fans here in SC don't give him the credit he is due.
He interacts the most with the fans in current bunch of players - and to back it, he has the stats of a top10 PL player. Yet, I have seen fans putting Lamela's name in front of him every single time.

I went with Soldado for the simple reason that everyone wants him gone and to some extent I can understand it as his record hasn't been impressing for us. However he seems to be appreciated by the rest of the squad, doesn't moan about having a youngster ahead of him in the pecking order or clash with our manager. It's a good backup option to be honest, we all know he has the ability to score and might start banging them in for fun with a bit of luck. Strikers scoring goals is so much about confidence and for whatever reason it hasn't happened yet for Bobbie.

Chadli for me - His performance vs Chelsea in the 5-3 was incredible. He goes missing at times and needs to work on is pressing but he doesnt get the plaudits he deserves from a lot of people.

I think Townsend is a little underrated on here. He's massively inconsistent but has shown enough to get more support than he does.

Chadli is rated pretty highly here now I think, otherwise he'd have gotten my vote.

In the wider world I think Rose and Chadli are the most underrated.

Lamela :woot:

I like him but to say he is underrated on here is, frankly, laughable. there are a few who would slate him if he won the Ballon D'or but most others think he's been much better than he has been (caveat - I was really impressed with him towards the end of last season and expect a big one next time out).

As for the answer to the OP - Mason, by a country mile

Agree about Lamela, he is overrated by some on here, not sure why as he hasn't done a great deal since he has joined so far.

...from the perspective of spurs fans only, and mainly spurs fans on here:

Townsend most underated by some margin.
Lamela most overated
