We need to learn nothing from Arsenal. I'm 100% sure they didn't want to sell these players.
If it is the case they did not want to sell these players, they have been lucky, because they get good money for them, and have actually sold the players at the right time. This is good business, actually.

How much did we get for Carrick? Berba? etc. Levy is no slouch in the transfer market.

Dembele is the answer, not M'Villa

Disagree.

Where would you suggest playing Dembele?

I'm under the impression he's more of an attack-orientated midfielder (behing the main centre forward) and we already have VDV and Sig for this role.

M'Villa is an all-round midfielder who would be excellent for our engine room.

If we played VDV / Sig, Dembele and two wingers in the same midfield we would get pissed all over.

That definitely looks like M'baye Niang (darker complexion, similar hair, looks to be about the same height at 6 ft):

However, rumors are circulating that Everton had a bid accepted.

WRONG.

He's a deep-lying midfielder, he is also an all-rounder as he had one of the best tackling rates in the premiership last season, he's also very good with the ball at his feet and wriggles out of tight spaces like.. our very own Luka Modric. He's also a clever player who will give us some creativity in the final third.

He's also very strong and capable in the air, a very good all-rounder, my Fulham mate rates him very highly and I think he is a low-risk option that we should go for. Moutinho costs too much.

Unfortunately it appears Zenit St. Petersburg are rumored to be in on him and whenever I hear of Russian clubs being in on a player I tend to think more money is getting ready to thrown around.

About that (from the Guardian):

Russia: Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila rejects a move to Zenit St Petersburg after racist threats from fans using the motto: "There's no black in the colours of Zenit." In 2008 Zenit fans lynched a toy black monkey. (April, Russia's FA head: "We have no racist clubs, and none with racist leanings.")

I'd not worry ;)

Yep, but not surprising, which makes FIFA's decision to give them a World Cup before they cleared that shit out of their game all the more abhorrent. Filth.

Ugh. Never could wrap my head around shit like that. It's just completely detestable.

Brown paper bags were no doubt exchanged. Blatter must go first, but to clean up that organisation properly would be like killing a hydra, cut off the head and ten more appear in it's place. Rotten, England won't be getting another tournament in my lifetime I'm sad to say - I'm not exactly old at 30 either. (n)

Anyway M'Vila, not as limited as some seem to think. More of a dynamic box-to-box who can play and pass a fair bit.
Think I'd prefer Dembele as a realistically-priced, deeper-lying playmaker however.
