weird that jj has maintained we're not in for him.

personally i'd be a tad disappointed as i really want moutinho, if not him then dembele.

It seems that we expect him to go to arsenal, but they are waiting for us to agree a fee, before stepping in. So perhaps we want to move the 'gazamping' process forwards so they are out of the market by the time we get to the last day market for Moutinho/Dembelle.

Certainly an option, my first choice would be Moutinho but with his asking price getting further away by the day..
Would be happy with M'Vila though, passes well, tackles well and would fit the system..
I think our 2 holding DM/CMs will likely be more all round players and very mobile to tie in with a pressing game leaving the front 4 to be very attack minded...

Yep, but not surprising, which makes FIFA's decision to give them a World Cup before they cleared that shit out of their game all the more abhorrent. Filth.

Having come across large numbers of Russians on holiday in Turkey I would believe it, they are the most rude, arrogant and ignorant people I have ever come across. Made us find a Place to go on holiday where we new there wouldn't be any. F*cking horrible ba*tards!!!!!!!

I'd actually fancy M'Vila and Dembele (together) ahead of Moutinho (by himself). M'Villa is dynamic, strong, a solid defender but also a brilliant passer with good vision, while Dembele has some of those qualities but is very good offensively (may not have been the best striker/CAM to ever have played in England, but his offensive qualities are there), can glide past players, pick passes and is a good technical dribbler and playmaker. Dembeles shot on the other hand... Row Z.

HOw would that work?

.................Sandro M'Villa
....................Dembele
??

Looks solid, would probably lack goals though although I guess rotating Demele with Sig or Van Der Vaart could provide them

Other rotations could include either of Sandro and M'villa for Parker or indeed one of them being replaced by Dembele in the deeper role with a goal scorer ahead of a CM pairing of Dembele with any of Sandro/Parker/M'Villa

I can't see us signing both though, not with some many other CM's on our books too. I think either or hopefully a higher quality player (if possible) as we really still have to tie up deals for a back up striker and a winger too and that's before we even think about a keeper.

I like your logic though and if we were able to shift Jenas or letting Van Der Vaart go (which of course none of us want) I could see why signing M'Villa and Demeble together would be a good option.

Something like that.

Sandro/Parker - holding
M'Villa - dynamic box to box
Dembele/Siggy/VdV - AM/playmaker

WF-Ade-Bale.

And Walker and BAE rampaging forward on the wings.

Quite a few CMs though, as you say, but I reckon that VdV can't have more than a season left in him at this level. I love Rafa, but his fitness level/injuries might get the best out of him as he's pushing 30. Parker might not be able to play the way he does much longer. Can't see Jenas getting much game time and Livermore is a good squad player, but I doubt he'll be more than that at Spurs.

Would it not work to play Sandro and Mvila at DM with Sig AM behind VDV and Ade ? I am also more than a little unhappy that Hudd is not being given a chance because he could be that creative player who can actually pass the ball, especially if he has 2 DMs behind him.

I'm a little surprised by the M'Vila move if true. He's more comfortable in possession and has better distribution than Sandro, but, regardless what some are suggesting, is not the box to box player we need to compliment what we have and compensate for the loss of Modric. Moutinho or Dembele fit this profile much better.

You could have M'Vila and Sandro or Parker in the cm2 of the 4231, but this is hardly a priority. I'd rather prioritise the Mountinho/Dembele role and the Wilian/Dzagoev role. try and bring in one from either of those two groups.

I must say that I am not excited by M'Villa either,... the need seems to be creative player, not another DM/CM

BTW - not one quote in that BBC "article"

I'd love him alongside Sandro or Parker in midfield - would give us some good physical power in the centre and allow our wingers and VDV / Sig the license to create.

I think he could develope more to his game too if given a little more freedom, which Sandro or Parker would allow him.

Maybe AVB sees potential to give him some more freedom and develop him into the CM role, rather than buy one straight off the bat.
