So Harry will be after him once he gets a new job? Levy already making a profit.

Hmm, maybe that's why we are waiting to sell Defoe, Levy is waiting for Di Matteo to get fired so Harry can get the Chelsea job and pay £15M for Defoe in January!

All but his first 10 or so followers, of 110 or so, are spurs fans. And he asked a bunch of Utd players to follow him back in April, but none of them did. No idea what that signifies.

United fans on Red Cafe don't seem too bothered, the majority of them didn't think he'd 'make it' with them.

Is that in the same way Liverpool fans decided Sigurðsson was shit as soon as he chose us over them?

Agree totally, we know that most fans are fickle in this respect. We don't like losing players to any of our rivals. On the Skysports article at the bottom there's a Man Utd fan who says who cares because we aren't a threat.. God I hope he chokes on that comment by the end of the season.... see I'm fickle too ;-)

20k a week??

That's a lot for an unproven youngster

It also means he has to play fairly regularly.

It suggests he'll be competition for Benny for a season, perhaps starting in the cups, and then if it goes well AVB has a decision to make at the end of the season.

If it doesn't go well, then we'll probably have to pay his wages if we loan him out.

I wonder if Zeki is one of those of AVB's Secret Scouting List? Or whether he's a Broomfield/Old Scouting System buy?

Sky Sports understands Manchester United defender Ezekiel Fryers has agreed a deal to join Tottenham.
Sky Sports revealed back in April that Tottenham were leading the chase for Fryers after he turned down a new deal at Old Trafford.

Fryers' contract expired earlier this summer and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admitted earlier this week he was in the dark over the player's future

The 19-year-old, who has come through the youth ranks at United, made six first-team appearances for the Red Devils last season, making his full debut in the Carling Cup

win over Leeds.
Tottenham are thought to be long-term admirers of Fryers with his versatility in being able to play left-back or centre-back making him an attractive proposition.

New Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has given the go-ahead to push through the move and Fryers is expected to become the latest new face at White Hart Lane.

Fryers is believed to have agreed a four-year deal at Tottenham and is expected to finalise the move in the next few days.
United will be due a compensation fee for Fryers and, if they are unable to agree a deal with Spurs, the move could go to a transfer tribunal to decide the fee for the player's switch to North London.

So Skysports news are not saying its done but its 'nearly done' Guess we will need to wait and see for a few days

We were first linked to Fryers in about February, so probably not anything really to do with AVB. However Fryers acquisitioin would be consisent with both AVB and Levy's focus on youth - especially having no LB cover in that age group (although with Vertonghen, Naughton, Smioth and Rose we do have cover).

Doubt very much if we are paying him £20k - maybe the contract says he gets to that wage if he plays so many first team matches but he will start on a lot less I would think.

With the goat saying rose on loan must mean we are confident of getting this guy. He will cover Benny and Naughton will cover walker. Just need a new keeper then defense is done

Where is the 20K a week coming from? I'd be a little surprised if it was as high as that. I doubt he'll get that much action this season (maybe a spell during January if Benny goes to the ACN and a few cup games). We are buying players for the future though and hopefully he'll get to develop with our other younger players.

This is not ITK but doubt very much if he starts on £20k pw - but the 4 year contract has inbuilt steps so he could get there. Eg he starts at £3k pw (rumours are he turned down a £1.5k pw contract at Man U), but after 15 1st team appearances, he gets £6k pw, after 30 first team appearances £10k pw and after 50 first tea appearances he gets £20k pw - or something like this structure.

Yup, that's standard United fan talk in the style of 'we never lose face over anything', the type who claim losing the second best player in the world to service crippling interest payments as no big deal.
I could almost feel happy for City supplanting them as the dominant club in Manchester, were it not for the fact that they financially doped themselves upto the eyeballs to get there, and shunted us out of a near guaranteed top four place after years of honest, careful building...

Both Pogba and Fryers have vanished from #MUFC website, so they are officially gone now.

Both out of contract. Latest rumours are that Spurs and Man U cannot agree the 'development fee' for an under 23 player so it needs to go to the transfer tribunal to agree the fee. Rumour is Spurs offering £2m, ManU want £4m ! Not sure what timescales are involved - any one any info on how these tribunals work ?
