Seem to recall the Bostock one happened fairly quickly. A couple of weeks after we announced his signing.

Yeah, I guess the question is whether we want to sign him for an unknown fee and then go to Tribunal to decide the fee or whether we can go to a Tribunal to see what the fee is and then decide to sign him !

Aye. I remember Jordan wanting something ridiculous for Bostock. About £5m or something. The fee ended up being £750Kish with potential add-ons of about £1.5m.

We technically had already signed Bostock - hence why it went to tribunal. Whether we could object to the fee the tribunal would set, I do not know.

This is a bit like arbitration meaning an adjudication on a matter is in the hands of a 3rd party. You don't get to check their ruling and make a decision. You've made a decision and you abide by their ruling.

Yep, that's my understanding. Pointless waste of time otherwise.

Not sure how Man U can value him at £4m and then only offer him £1.5k a week (78k a year!) would imagine we will get him for bit less than the £2m.

Good news. A signing will keep the jackals at bay for a few days :D

But I do hope he joins. Kind of excited about him. After all, as much as I love Benny, he's getting up there and we need somebody for the day he crushes my soul and leaves the game :(

Do we think he comes on the USA tour?

Because currently we have zero LBs on our squad as BAE is injured and Rose is with the Olympic team. We played Naughton, Bassong, and Vertonghen there. I hope he does, really want to see this kid.

Benny is apparently cleared to play and hoping to come on the US trip.

Looks like the rumour he has now signed on a 4 year deal (posted earlier on twitter thread) may be true - probably still need transfer tribunal to adjudicate development fee to be paid (assuming Man U will still not agree) but we have a new LB/CB.

Welcome Zeki !

JJ was beaten to the punch on this one. Interesting as that twitter guy seems to be a little better than some of the Agent_ITK types and he is suggesting Lewandowski is our first choice striker target. Hmm.

Played for Spurs X1 once but not since - could be injury ?

Out of contract at Man U and reputeadly signed fir Spurs (ie agreed wages etc) - but subject to development fee being set by a tribunal (Man U wanted £6m apparantly)

In theory its just a process - unless I guess tribunal sets a fee which is ridiculously high

They never do, Man U are going to be disappointed.

Didn't Palace want something like £5m for Bostock, but it ended up being around £1.5m??
I don't recall any buying club complaining about the fee set by tribunal, however the selling club often feel hard done by.
Though in this occasion, we may have to take the Man Utd effect into account, they may get their own way and we are left scratching our heads at some ludicrously high fee....

What happens if the fee set is £6m? And we dont want to pay it?
Fryers is out of contract at Utd so no longer a Utd player. At what point can he find himself a new club without Utd being owed money? Can he sit for 12 months, not train or kick a ball, get approached by Fleetwood Town to sign next summer and still have to go to a tribunal to decide a fee owed to Utd?
