What happens if the fee set is £6m? And we dont want to pay it?
Fryers is out of contract at Utd so no longer a Utd player. At what point can he find himself a new club without Utd being owed money? Can he sit for 12 months, not train or kick a ball, get approached by Fleetwood Town to sign next summer and still have to go to a tribunal to decide a fee owed to Utd?
We have to pay it. It's not a suck it and see situation.

Anyways, we wanted to pay £2m, they want £6m. It'll very likely be our side of £4m as the final fee. Maybe just split down the middle. It won't be £6m though.

Is he actually at the club though?

Nothing on the OS, never been a mention of him anywhere or anything?

I thought he was at the club and is just waiting on a tribunal before we can complete his signing

But you don't usually have a tribunal until you have completed the signing, so why isn't he anywhere to be seen on the site, in pictures, any games, anywhere basically?

Rumour is the tribunal has set the fee at £6m and we are walking away? Seems way too high for a kid that has barely played for their first team and is out of contract, they have also got in a replacement who has played way more first team football for £4m.

£6m is absolutely ridiculous and symptomatic of the influence Fergie wields over the FA. Can anyone advise what the highest tribunal payout is? I can only think of Bostock and that was in the region of £2m.

I thought we offered Palace something like that for Bostock, they rejected it citing that they wanted more. It went to the tribunal and we ended up paying like 700k? Less than we'd actually offered!

I definitely remember it was less that our original offer. It shut that smug prick Simon Jordan up, which is not fucking easy.

Yes we offered 2 million and the tribunal set his price at 700000, which sent Jordan into a rage spiral claiming that the FA was corrupt and just trying to help the big teams. He is also revoked John Bostock and his Dad's Crystal Palace season tickets as he didn't want them anywhere near his club.

I would be very surprised if the figure was set at anywhere near £6m for a LB with only two professional appearances to his name.

Who's that then?

Missed United signing any defenders this window!
