No I don't know all the Premier League rules either. As a manager losing a player in such a manner and again it was widely reported at the time that this might happen, I would ask for an investigation. Clearly an arrangement has been made which would be against league rules I'm sure. Putting him in the Development squad where he can still play for the first team of course may be a way round this, or it may not.

No signing makes or breaks any player. Rose will make or break his own future with the club, just the same as every player obviously.

Can this be proven though? what people think happen and what actually happens can be completely different things.

If as we assume this was the plan all along and Liege was only signing him due to their connections to us as a way around the British compensation rules (and of course they would profit from the deal) and he was always going to move to us in Jan

He wouldn't be played that often, just for freshness and match fitness and his move there would be more about training and keeping fit.

We wouldn't want him to get injured while with them and they probably wouldn't want him becoming integral to their team or indeed standing in the way of someone they will need to rely upon once he has moved to us.

The fact that he hasn't been playing regularly for them isn't necessarily at indication that he wasn't deemed good enough to do so or indeed that he will not end up being good enough for us.

Although it's interesting to see he has gone in to the development squad and suggests we will not seem him in the first team squad any time soon, one for the future.

Make sense and he has probably gone into the development squad to learn how to fit in AVB style of play, probably how all our signings (unless needed) will be for a little while.

Stating the obvious there :D

Comments on Red Cafe are hilarious. None of them care that he's gone but they really, really really hate Levy.

This was the pick of the comments

'We should keep a dossier on Levy.'
I liked this, in the discussion on Fryers but about Rose:

All my wives family are Spurs fans and were really shocked when I showed them what Sunderland fans were saying about him. Then they watched him a few times and were in agreement that you shouldn't definitely not sell him.
Literacy lols. :D

Not a rant just talking about the fact that people are suggesting that Fryers should play on saturday without seeing him play but are saying Rose is shite despite not seeing him play, I agree wrong thread but Fryers is a Grant Hall esque signing imo one for for the future in the development squad and Im not writing him off just saying that this is not a signing for the first team as many people suggesting.

He also like Hall needs a championship loan before we start looking to bring him in to the first team and as for his loan in Liege it is highly doubtful imo that they would do what you are suggesting and that would suggest we may have written pre agreement with Leige which may be illegal. If there wasnt a pre agreement then would be no guarantee that we would sign him or they may be a case of them selling him off to the highest bidder. though as before I dont think he is a first team signing as many suggesting hence me sounding like Im writing him off for the first team. Hall looks like he will be sold to make a profit unless he develops a lot more and Fryers is the same imo, hence us not willing to spend the money on his compensation, if he doesnt make it we know we can sell for a profit and be happy with our dealings

Frankly I was highlighting that Rose needs to brought to the first team if we need a LB now and then judged whether he is good enough,
I'll be honest I haven't see a lot of Rose at Sunderland, but I did read the opinions of their fans when they were posted here and they seem encouraging. I also remember being relatively impressed when he played LB for us and indeed for the U21s

I think he's a decent player, I also think if BAE is coming back soon then he should stay at Sunderland for the whole season so he can continue to play regular football.

From there it will depend I guess how well Fryers develops, BAE's situation and Rose himself (he might not want to fight for his place with us and might feel the best thing for him is to move away somewhere he will play week in week out)

If he is good enough I am happy for him to come back and compete with BAE, but that's the level he surely has to be at now. Competing for a first team spot not to be first back up.

TBH even before the BAE rumours I knew he was going either this summer or next as it is a opportunity for Levy to cash in, from a financial point of view it makes sense(if you look at it in the short term) but it doesnt make sense if your replacement is not as good and you have to spend a lot of money searching for a replacement, so I suspect Rose will come back hoping he is good enough to replace BAE with Fryers as back up whether that is this summer or next year remains to be seen

Wrong thread but not worth a new thread

We should allow rose to stay at sunderland but have a one week notice return to us if ekotto gets injured again. If sundeland say no levy should say well it's either that or we take him back now

They will sad ion enough listen to Levy

They are only small victories, but they all add up:
Telling United not to even bother when they came sniffing around Modric, the one player, above all others, who they could do with.
Ripping them off over Ezekiel (whether he turns out to be good or not).

Daniel Levy...the revenge (y)

That's not allowed in the rules governing loans within the same division.

This sets a very dangerous precadent and is far from a good thing. This may seem like a good laugh because it puts one over a massive club like MaUre but what about when the smaller clubs get screwed over by the same behaviour?

If he has any intention to stay manure wud be able to sign him up much earlier?
So it's up to these young players, sounds more like player power than big boys bullying small clubs to me
Besides we've did sinister things to small clubs before (bostock:banghead: )

a win-win situation would be for Rose to develop in the way that Walker did with his loan at Villa, Get a offer for BAE whilst he has a resell value in the summer ( was he not linked with PSG some time back ?), bring Rose in as first choice left back for next season and having Fryers as cover.

Nothing sinister about Bostock. Palace wanted an entirely unrealistic fee for him which we wouldn't agree to. We went to tribunal who then ruled in our favour.
