what are you going on about?

i happen to think we could sign him thats all, christ sorry for optimism!

I am saying that some people on these forums raise expectations for potential signings to totally unrealistic levels, given our spending patterns and what top players are earning at the moment. That creates a shitstorm on here when we don't sign these players.

I have asked you to give me any reasons why you could envisage the signing, but you don't seem to have any, so let's leave it at that shall we?

Gotta agree. Prime example was last summer when we were competing with Liverpool for Joe Cole.

We had the lure of Champions League and Harry Redknapp. Liverpool on the otherhand were in decline and all they had to offer to Cole was a massive salary. Guess what happened. Cole chose the money.

Might be hard to believe, but if you dont pay top dollar, the very best players coveted by every team wont come to play for you.

Even this January when we were still in the champions league, we couldnt prise Rossi, Llorente, etc from their teams. If we were offering massive salaries, I'm pretty sure one of those strikers would have attempted to leave their teams.

As long as we have a small stadium and with Danny Levy in charge, we will never pay the huge salaries to attract the top, top talent. ITKs saying otherwise are all dreaming.....

Another poster with a bit of common sense, good to see.

What, in your opinion, would you have Levy do, given your estimate that WHL drawings and Levy's hold on the purse strings is not a happy marriage?

Before you answer, consider Leeds United.

No, you're thinking of the danish number 10: Christian Eriksen. OT: Would be a great backup for Modric/VDV in two or three years.

Could this be what potl's cryptic alas meant....

Most famous quote from shakespeare's hamlet (ie the prince of Denmark) is "alas poor I knew him well"

Actually ignore that just got my colours mixed up so it can't be him

absolutely and thats why we wont be signing a european based top triker anytime soon until top clubs have forked out and sorted their teams.. haryy bangs on about it every week in his column. its all about the money, always was and we dont pay.

Don't agree with that personally, he is much better than what we have imo. He is not top of my list of wanted strikers, but defo think he is an improvement

A guy with movement and finishing like Rossi would succeed in the prem. Just look at Hernandez. Can't see it happening as all along harry has said that needs a striker who can play up top on there own and that doesn't describe Rossi to me.

Well we made a bid in January for him so Harry clearly does want him

we have a long standing interest in him

last season we were the joint 8th best team in europe, if one of the other 7 or man city dont come in for him then we CAN sign him

we are 10 times as big as villareal & wage structures can be bent accordingly in all manner of ways!

call me what u wan but i will stand by my opinion thank you...tottenham hotspur could sign rossi imvho!

adiepf, I'm sure the Staff have advised this before, in the light of your withdrawal from making leading posts insinuating information that you have received.

Let me remind you that if you use ...after a short statement it suggests inside knowledge to what you've written.

Do you understand this?

What we ask, so that your opinion is made clear as opposed to a suggestable nod in the direction of ITK, is that you don't use your ...at then end of each sentence.

Jesus lay off him. If people here are stupid/gullible/desperate enough to assume every ... Means something then it's their problem not his. Surely if he isn't insulting anyone and sticking to the ruled of the forum he can post whatever he bleeding well pleases......................

considering DL's feelings regarding the last time HR mentioned buying Bellamy, i doubt very much, that Bellamy is in the frame...

Don't want the Beckham Circus here thank, but guess he will want to be in London next season with all the pomp that will run from January onwards to do with the Olympics

Valencia, do you think we are close to a signing or is it all just posturing at the moment?

This. Unnecessary insult imo. It's your problem if you're reading everything Adie says as Itk. Give the guy a break
