i think your wrong, i think rossi would come to us...i think plenty would..

& VDV was in the top tier of WORLD footballers before he signed for us & just because he plays for us doesnt make him any less a footballer....

VDV is bigger than rossi, rossi woould sign for spurs...

all imo of course!

It is in no way similar, Real were desperate to get rid of him on the last day of the TW. He is a class player, but was not one of Europe's most wanted.

Rossi, Augero, Sanchez, Pastore, Bale...these are the most wanted players in world, and the clubs who DO PAY over £120k a week will fight to sign them, that is not us.

Seriously, it is like debating with children in here sometimes.

No, you're thinking of the danish number 10: Christian Eriksen. OT: Would be a great backup for Modric/VDV in two or three years.

You probably think about Christian Eriksen - young promising attacking midfielder, but he is Danish. Wouldn't be a bad shout though.

Maybe in the privacy of his bedroom he pretends to be Swedish:shifty:

What is your reasoning behind that?

Given that he is on record as saying he wants to go to Italy if he leaves Spain.

Given that his agent is working on a deal to the current European Champions.

Given that after scoring 30 goals in one of the strongest leagues in the world he will not sign for a club that has a top wage of £75k.

erm its just my opinion, i think guiseppi rossi would sign for spurs, u may well be right regards his stature, u may be wrong & he may sign for spurs

its all opinions, we dont know rossi or his agent do we?

btw his agent is "touting" him, not working on a deal, ive seen no media source that says barca have agreed a deal with villareal have you?

he may well go there, but i dont see them blowing their €40m budget on him

OK, I will leave in your delusional fantasyland and watch with amusement when the window close and you, along with others, bitch and whine about us failing to land a £30m striker like Rossi. It is all so utterly predictable.

I'm going to cut adie some slack and agree with him!........for us to go in for him in Jan and if we are back in we must have an idea of his personal terms or feel we can get near them so the financial argument doesn't stack up for me. Our profile has been raised through our CL league exploits and someone like Rossi may see us as a stepping stone to an even bigger club in the future

If and its a big if we are in for him then we may have a chance, however it goes without saying if its a choice between us and Barca then no contest.Barca dont appear to have an endless pot of cash and the other so called big clubs appear to have other targets....so why not if we can match his wages and ambition?..Are Villarael a bigger club than us?...I dont think so and in terms of turnover i seem to recall us being in the top 10 in the world the season before we reached the CL....i doubt were any lower now and I dont recall the Yellow submarines being near the top of the list!

In the prem he was...

I'm saying Rossi has been here before and was shocking la liga is a totally different league to the prem

TBH he was hardly shocking, he played a handful of games and was behind players like RVN and Rooney. He had a loan period at Newcastle but was still a pup.

A guy with movement and finishing like Rossi would succeed in the prem. Just look at Hernandez. Can't see it happening as all along harry has said that needs a striker who can play up top on there own and that doesn't describe Rossi to me.

Gotta agree. Prime example was last summer when we were competing with Liverpool for Joe Cole.

We had the lure of Champions League and Harry Redknapp. Liverpool on the otherhand were in decline and all they had to offer to Cole was a massive salary. Guess what happened. Cole chose the money.

Might be hard to believe, but if you dont pay top dollar, the very best players coveted by every team wont come to play for you.

Even this January when we were still in the champions league, we couldnt prise Rossi, Llorente, etc from their teams. If we were offering massive salaries, I'm pretty sure one of those strikers would have attempted to leave their teams.

As long as we have a small stadium and with Danny Levy in charge, we will never pay the huge salaries to attract the top, top talent. ITKs saying otherwise are all dreaming.....

Well what your saying is wrong. He wasn't shocking in the PL. He had a distinguished pedigree with Man Utd scoring for fun for their youth teams and reserve teams. His contract was running out and he wanted to play 1st team football which Utd couldn't guarentee.

He played well for Utd and for Newcastle also.

He was only 19/20 when he left for spain. La Liga might be a different league but they sure as hell know how to play football over there.

My guess is that he would return twice the players than he left.
