The genius that is Jol. Just when they needed a goal and were knocking on the door he took off their two most creative players and brought on a defensive midfielder.
So familiar

It's up there on a par with singing for Jermain Defoe when he played for Pompey as Darren Bent was scoring a hat trick for us. Or singing 'super Pav' when Crouch scored a hat trick for us against Young Boys.
I've been to Fulham away every year for the last 4 years (even twice last year including FA Cup) but it was the sole reason I didn't go this year.
I loved Martin Jol when he was our manager, but he's not anymore. I wouldn't expect us to sing for George Graham if he came out of nowhere and started managing again, and he won a trophy for us.
It's just disrespectful, especially when Harry wasn't there for medical reasons.
No I wouldn't have him back. He's also not a great man or a Spurs legend.
Some people need to build a bridge and get the fuck over Martin Jol. Singing for him while our current manager recovers from heart surgery is fucking disgusting.
I love Martin Jol, he was our second longest serving PL manager after Gerry Francis, he brought us forward a long way and stepped in after Santini gave in after five minutes. The way his sacking was handled was poor, but I'm also aware of the story that he had talks about the Newcastle job while he was still at Spurs, so...
But the thing that makes me love BMJ is his post match conversation with a ref (I think at Old Trafford)
BMJ knocks on refs door, walks in.
"I want to talk to your about your performance on TV. Is it alright if I call you a prick?"
"No, it is not."
"Is it all right if I think you're a prick?"
"You can think whatever you like."
"Okay...I think you're a prick."
I love/loved Martin Jol, but I remember that season when we started poorly, and it seemed so obvious that he needed to go. Sort of like that moment when you realise that the girl you're with is great, but simply not the one...then dumping her in front of loads of people and dating a Spanish bird that can't speak English instead.

I'm no Harry lover but I agree with you here, Spurs_Bear. I'm glad Redknapp wasn't there for it. I think it's embarrassing.
That's an old football story from years and years ago!
You really believed that Jol had that conversation?
I've heard Gaza use that story before and the first exposure I've had to it was Fletcher to a prison warder in an episode of Porridge. That's an old football story from years and years ago!

Jol told this story himself. Think it was at the AGM.
Did anyone see the group of lads who had the letters on their shirts spelling out 'i love Martin Jol' on the front and 'get well Harry' on the back? Always nice to welcome back players or managers that did well for Spurs and I have no problem with the song. I do think, however, that Harry Redknapp's blue and white army should've been sung a lot louder and more often than it was. If ever we needed to show him how much most fans think of him, it was today.
Hopefully at Villa it'll be a lot louder.
With you on this one added to the fact our current manager is massiveky superior
That actually wound me up quite a bit at the time, meant as a nice gesture I'm sure but who can see it on the back? People see a picture of it in the media and its just Spurs fans praising Jol, it should of been 'Get Well Harry' on the front.
LOL!
Bollocks, our present manager is NOT 'massively superior"
If anything Jol is superior, our manager has a FAR better team than Jol ever did and our Manager finished 4th once and 5th once, 4th cos the Scouse were SHIT and Chelsea Manure and Arse were no way in the standard Jol had to deal with.
Redknapp is an over rated Manager.
Thats my opinion, so if you differ, differ, me no care
