so that's it:
"Dembele does not have a chance, not for this game," Villas-Boas said. "There is a 50 per cent chance he will be back for the Lazio game."

Ffs. Also I concur with all the cries for some of the youth to be given a change but it will be the same team

Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen, Sandro, Thudd, Lennon, Dempsey, Bale, Ade (Probably even Defoe)

Majorly losing hope.

Least we should DEFINITELY have Dembele back for next league match...

Without Dembele, my team of choice would be:

Lloris

Walker, Caulker, Gallas, Verts

Sandro, Thudd

Lennon, Sig, Bale

Ade

Bench: Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Carroll, Townsend, Demspey, Defoe

FFS wise up. We arent facing the invincibles here.
Its the team that have shipped 15 goals in 7 games. The team Fulham put 3 past. And while we arent brilliant, whatever team we put out will be stronger than the team Fulham had out last weekend.
Adebayor will torture them, and with Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen, Bale, Adebayor we have serious threat from set pieces.

They'll dominate possession, but with our counter attacking threat and aerial threat we are more than capable of scoring 2 or 3 goals. We'll score at least 1, so its about keeping them out.
I'm sorry I'm not that wise, but is there any need to swear at me. anyway, all about opinions, etc, etc.

You know you're dreaming :( We should give up with our predicted line-ups; because we're always disappointed.

Got more hope of Dembele pulling a miraculous recovery off than seeing Carroll start over Thudd unfortunately.

Yeah I know...

Hudd is the safe option but he's been a tad pap lately and not really contributing much so I thought what the heck...

Don't get me wrong I'm in the same boat as you! Although I think we're being slightly optimistic and unrealistic; AVB would essentially be piling pressure on himself if he played Carroll and we lost. Media would have a field day

Apologies. Didn't swear though. Second F was fudge :)

I'm worried but there is just too much negativity around here. If Dembele was playing we'd be almost full strength. Arguably only Dembele and Kaboul are missing. We've been in worse shape. Adebayor fit is a big plus. We'll be ok. Score draw at worst but I suspect a spurs win.

I don't think Sandro played last night which is good but he still has to travel all the way back. Why did he have to go in the first place???

I'd go for:

Lloris
Walker-Caulker-Vertonghen-Naughton
Sandro-Carroll
Lennon-Sigurdsson-Bale
Adebayor
Without Dembele we need some creativity and passing ability in central mid, which Carroll can provide. I'm just afraid that he's to light weight for Arsenals attacking players. I don't like the look of Carroll vs Cazorla, so Sandro will have to put in a shift. Vertonghen has sometimes looked out of place on the left and I'd like to see him back in central defense. I went for Lloris ahead of Friedel because I reckon we need a more proactive keeper against Arsenal.

We'll probably see:

Friedel
Walker-Gallas-Caulker-Vertonghen
Sandro-Huddlestone
Lennon-Dempsey-Bale
Adebayor
I reckon both teams can get a result, but I'm not hopeful. I think we'll play pretty well and still not get a result.
Saturday will call for plenty of beer...

I don't consider Dembele missing a blow as I never truly expected him back for the weekend anyway but nevertheless, can see this one dragging on with an eventual operation - put it this way, if he's back before the new year that will be a bonus.

There will be lineup's who we want in but honestly, can you see AVB making bold changes for what will be a crucial match?!

He will plump for experience in the old guard and the seasoned pro's and expect a different outcome from what we've witnessed thus far of late which will result in a nail biting and nervy 90 minutes and one which I doubt we'll come away from with all smiles.

Luck and the referee will be a huge factor in this match for both sides and we can only hope for the stars align in our favour and somehow manage to avoid defeat - just don't expect a good performance folks!

Lloris, Kaboul, Parker, Dembele. That's four key players right there, of which one is considered world-class in his position. We're also missing BAE from our usual first team line-up and a first-choice CB is being forced to play at LB.

This is the team I believe AVB should put out:

(4411)
Lloris
Walker Caulker Vertonghen Naughton
Bale Carroll Sandro Lennon
Adebayor Defoe

But if we're going 4231 then imo it should be:

Lloris
Walker Gallas Caulker Naughton
Sandro Vertonghen
Lennon Gylfi Bale
Adebayor

He won't play either of those, not even close, he'll go with pretty much exactly the same line-up he went for at City.

Whatever happens I don't want to see Dempsey in the starting eleven. Apart from having the technical ability of your average sunday league player he doesn't even get stuck in with tackles.

Sigurdsson is lightweight but atleast he will put a shift in.

Walker will be fit according to latest reputable twitter sources.

As long as Sandro is there do to a job on Cazorla I'll be confident.

Dempsey is quite simply not a number 10, would like to see how Ade and Sigs link up..
