My only query is how could we get him so cheaply. Surely at €12m or even £12m, so many clubs should have massively been in for him. Also surely Ajax could have got more for him.

I understand his contract is winding down but still it doesn't make sense for a player so highly rated.

12m is better than nothing which is what thy get if his contract runs to the next transfer window

I really want this to happen for the utterly selfish reason that Spurs will be chosen for TV so much more over here in Denmark if it does.

I also wonder, if Siggy is likely to go on loan if Ajax could be a good option for him, them and for us?

I doubt Siggy would want to go to the dutch league. Probably back to Germany.

Were more Arsenal games shown because of Bendtner?

The current network has only had the Premier League contract for a couple of seasons, and seem to let the presence of Danish players influence their choices more than the previous one. Before that it was pretty much what you'd expect, Man U/Dippers top billing, and a fairly obvious ladder below that. Bendtner had pretty much fallen from grace before this changed (although he always seemed to play so much better for Denmark than he did for his current club - a reverse Ibrahimovic if you like...)

These days Swansea are shown a lot purely because of Laudrup!

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a £10.7 million fee with Ajax for the transfer of Denmark international Christian Eriksen.

Reports in Holland on Thursday suggest that Tottenham will pay the fee in three instalments of close to £3.5m.

Christian Eriksen will sign for Spurs and be a success, says Ajax boss Frank de Boer

By Jamie Sanderson Thursday 29 Aug 2013 8:51 am

Ajax manager Frank de Boer has tipped Christian Eriksen to be a success at Tottenham after they agreed a £10million deal to sign the play-maker.
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas made his move for Eriksen on Tuesday; having lost out on Anzhi ace Willian to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Eriksen is thought to have agreed a five-year-deal contract at White Hart Lane, while Spurs will be paying around £10million up front for his services.
That figure could rise by a further £500,000 if Tottenham qualify for the Champions League next season, while the Dane would also be in line to receive a £1million bonus.

The deal was confirmed by Ajax manager De Boer, who said that Eriksen will sparkle in English football.
‘Eriksen will go and he can be a success at Spurs,’ he told De Telegraaf.
‘But this is a huge loss for us. He is very important to the squad. :playful:

Tottenham expect to bring in Eriksen in the coming days, while he is set to be joined at the club by Erik Lamela and Romanian defender Vlad Chiriches, both of whom are set to complete medicals before signing on the dotted line.

He'll be a massive success here, finally we will have replaced the guile of Modric but with a player who gets forward more and scores and assists more.

Not sure where Dembele will fit in anymore though

Read a report yesterday that he's had offers from big teams in the past (CL teams), however he's never moved as playing football is more important than bench warming at a team with other star players packing out the midfield.

Whether this is still the case or whether AVB has convinced him we'll build the midfield around him who knows.
