Our defence is a total joke. I seriously don't want to see Dawson next season in a Spurs jersey. Good bloke but limited talent.

Are you serious? Chiriches has been dreadful and Daws has been quite composed and put in a few vital tackles, yet you still deflect it onto him?

I still don't think we've got the centre backs to really play proper wingbacks though, we simply don't have the pace in any of them other than perhaps Kaboom. Presents similar problems as the high line did unless the flanks are being properly marshaled and i don't think either Walker or Rose contribute enough defensively yet, though they could learn.

I think we look appallingly bad. It's like kids football. No tactics, too wide a gap between the centre backs. Chadli is looking poor. If we play a decent team like this we will get destroyed.
Worrying thing is Ramsey is supposedly helping with the tactics, how can he be so highly thought of... If this is the dross we're turning out.

One end of the spectrum was the authoritarian, rigid AVB, now we're at the other end with Sherwood, a bloke who seems to think he's juggling his job as an electrician as well as managing his son's U14 team.

I'm sorry, that was horrible.

Second half:

Lloris

Walker Dawson Chiri Rose

Fredericks Capoue Eriksen Holtby

Ade

Soldado

Ade needs to drop and get involved, nowhere near the influence he had in the last game, gotta go looking to link-up.

We've got a lot of injuries and will give that to tim, but he's playing a mugs game today, I call him a wideboy and this is why - too much chav chutzpah and not enough sense.

God bless 'im for the commitment to attacking, but I don't like football as hairy as this and it doesn't have to be to be the antidote to AVB's excessive conservatism.

Would not let lamela anywhere near this game - the pitch is fucked and it's way too frenetic and disorganised and I don't think he'd perform and it wouldn't do him any good.

Tim, make changes or we lose.

Going through us like a warm knife through butter.

We could so easily have been one down at half time. Too sloppy with defence and our passing. Could do with some changes for the second half but will it make a difference?

Seems we haven't gelled yet.

Fucking hell, where to start...

Terrible so far. And I mean terrible. Most of it stems from a complete lack of a midfield and any balance to the team. Whenever we don't have the ball there is no pressure on the opposition and they are playing through us too easily. Eriksen is at least trying, if not always successfully, to show some discipline and hold his position but Holtby is headless chicken to the extreme so far. He cant go charging about everywhere in a Cm2.

The two wide players are struggling to do anything of note, as are the two strikers. Chadli has seen less ball than those aforementioned so will get the most stick but all have been quiet.

Chiriches since coming back from injury looks all over the place, giving the ball away in dangerous areas at least 5 times. Apart from that the times our defence has been exposed is because of West Brom being able to run at them due to the woeful protection being afforded ahead of them. A thankless task for them today.

We need to shore up the centre of the pitch, swap out one of the wide players possibly, work harder off the ball in closing down the opposition, and after getting the basics right get the ball down and play a bit football and create the chances to win this game. If only it were that simple...

Jesus Christ what have we become

This is like a 'pre-season' for Sherwood but one where the results count.
As for the defence... I am bored with saying it, and others will be too, but it is lacking in quality, no matter how nice and committed they may seem or how nice their hair looks.
The newbies of course need to have time. Not just there but throughout the team, including the manager.
So... patience.

I commend the idea - no holding midfielder to remove the onus on him to do all the defensive work - press as a midfield not just the central/holding midfielders.

However its hard to implement because things like this happen - Eriksen making clumsy challenges in the final third and giving away dangerous FK positions.

The defending of the FK is another matter...terrible!

One extreme to another. Kapow needs to come on. One thing we do need to do which we did under AVB is control possession of the ball. Minimise any chances for Brom. You do that in midfield.

Jesus. This can't be that hard can it? AVB was seemingly scared of his own shadow and now Sherdawg is flopping his cock about with wild abandon.

Can we just please get someone in with a clue, or give Sherwood one.

that is shy I cant understand why Lamela didn't start, terrible choice to not to make. Then add that the lack of DM... TS is just suicidal.

I think it will stay the same till about 60 the we will see chadli and holtby off for bentalab and lamela

Why do we go from 2/3 defensive midfielders to 0 and from a rigid tactical plan to none at all ?

Most importantly why oh why is Dawson still being selected, he must have incriminating pics of Levy because whoever is the manager he keeps being picked.

Why are people slating Siggy? He has been ok. Chadli, Dawson, Vlad and Rose have been useless and Holtby so so - everyone else has been good

I didn't slate him, just said he should be taken off. We clearly need a defensive midfielder and I think we'd do better with Capoue and Holtby than Capoue and Sigurdsson.

I counted 3 times Dawson followed the striker therefore playing him onside, while the rest of the backline held firm. I don't know why he struggles so much to play as part of a defensive unit

  1. I dont know what Sherwoods problem with Capoue is or if Capoue has got a knock but he should be the first name on the sheet every week, he is class and he controls the midfield better than anyone we have.
