That felt so inevitable. I wasn't even enraged when West Brom scored as it was obviously going to happen. If we played for another 99 minutes we would not have scored!

Why are we like this? Our players aren't especially bad are they? Must be at least on par with West Brom. So it must be a mental thing - none of our players ever come across as 'winners' (which is unfair as I don't know them and to be premier league standard you must have something right in your head confidence and agression wise). Therefore, how do you change the mentality - is it something you can coach?

I don't see why I'm deluded. I've said it will take a season for him to get his ideas into the boneheads here and another summer window to do his final tweaking.

Level 'delusion' at me at the end of the season and we'll discuss it then.;)

There is something seriously wrong with any manager who watched Chiriches play today and did not sub him after 30 minutes.

I think we need to prepare ourselves for a hammering next week.

Last season I wrote something about these march threads being far more interesting than the matches being commented on. At least that's changed. This season they are far, far, more interesting than the shit, aimless and clueless football that we masochistically watch.

Southampton lose their manager and best players and sit second in the table.

We spend millions and can't even muster a shot until the 70th minute and eventually end up losing the game.

Love football!

The problem is that the players don't care enough and are not doing their job. And our manager has to take the blame as well, no point in bringing in new players if we ain't gonna play them. Especially when the centre half's are clearly not up to the job. Not even going to start on the other ones. Play verts and give Bobby a run of games as ade is going through the motions AGAIN

Can't use the Europa as an excuse. We changed 10 players.

Must say that a seriously worrying performance, absolutely nothing positive to take from that.
Agree. They travel on charter aircraft, not fucking Ryanair. They stay in the best hotel and are generally pampered. A short trip like that should have zero effect on their play or their attitude.

I honestly just don't think we have the right blend of players at the moment. It doesn't matter what manager we have, the outcome will be very similar IMO.

2 banks of 4-is it so tough to realise that pace is the answer? And that Lennon isn't?
Only good thing about this game is (I hope) that MoPo will never, ever again pick Chiriches and Lennon. Kaboul did not play like the club captain-he could not care less-how much did we get for Dawson?
Manager and his selections 100% to blame. Do not ever play 4-5-1 at home again. We will play more WBAs than Liverpools this season at home and it ain't looking good.

The encouraging thing is we bought more average players in the window to add to all the average. Years behind now. How depressing it is supporting this dross.

Hope city buy a new striker in January to bolster their attack so we can get sloppy seconds again in Dzeko

Right , I aint read any comments on here and usually I mock all the kneejerk idiots that post but now I am gonna be one of them. That really was shit..people on here mocked when we were linked with Lescott but he wanted it more than anyone in our colours out there today..Vlad has looked shit more often than not when I have seen him, I stick up for Paulinho when he gets slagged here but he has not really done anything to convince me since he signed..we used to have players who werent star names or played abroad but we would give teams a run for their money no matter who they were..all players that have been called shit on here..Hudd, Daws etc but it really seems that no one out there really gives 2 shits..I want lamela to be player of the season as much as anyone but everytime he gets the ball he needs 100 touches and does the same thing, kaboul at times looks lost, to be fair to Rose he looks like he gives 100% but is maybe not good enough..Lloris is our best player..pretty crap when your best player is a keeper..Ade looks like he is trying to not touch the ball whenever it is near him

Sorry for the rant but I am a bit pissed and at the moment think we look no different to the 90s spurs..

tomorrow when I see this can I delete it if i look like a whiny ****?

Edit..Dier looks like he gives a shit

Chiriches has to be a candidate as one of the worst players to take the pitch for Tottenham, utterly hopeless.

I'm no expert, but it seems as clear as day to me that our CB pairing should be Fazio and Verts

Another can of worms has been opened though that Kaboul is now our captain and it will be difficult to drop him. We didn't drop Keane or Dawson when they were off form as captain. Fazio or Vertonghen we'll be left out, which is odd as they may be our strongest pairing

I had the feeling anyway but this just makes this season feel even more like a write off. I think I'll just be hoping we do well in the cup competitions. Such a strange feeling...

Yep. Looking at the squad we had after the window closed, it was obvious that we lacked the talent to make any sort of a mark in the league this season. Today's result is just water off a duck's back for me in all honesty. Dull, uninspired, gutless football...again. I'll continue to watch every game, and try to get to the Lane to cheer on the payers at every opportunity, but my expectation levels for this team are about as low as it can get.

Fingers crossed we'll get a change of owner and things get shaken up a bit. People say "better the devil you know", but when that devil has no ambition or willingness to strengthen the team...fuck it. We're going nowhere fast under ENIC/Levy/Lewis.

A couple of points though -

I have no idea why we're playing Vlad, he's a calamity as far I'm concerned.

We're at the mercy of Adebayor's mood and whether he feels up for it half the time.

We should of bought a pacey/forward attacking option. We didn't and we do look short in terms of real threat.
