Last season I wrote something about these march threads being far more interesting than the matches being commented on. At least that's changed. This season they are far, far, more interesting than the shit, aimless and clueless football that we masochistically watch.

What happens in March that is different to September?

Well well well.

That was somekind of new level of awful. Even AVB last season had a solid organised defence and controlled possession before it went tits up in2 or 3 games

Sherwood had a clowns defence and organisation or lack of like today but at least we had a few goals.

That was a diabolical performance, worst I've seen in recent memory, no passion just players strolling around woth no effort and no passion. It was one of those kinda performances were you say, "they aren't playing for him" but obviously its way to soon for that and Europa can't be blamed cause most of these clowns didn't play that game.

Take away the qpr result and performance wise it's been average to shit so far. Poch has his work cut out for him with this bunch

Sorry but we have 11 quality players and most of the time they are never played together. There is no excuse for playing chiriches and Kaboul today and keeping Ade on the pitch when Soldado could have been given time with lamela, Eriksen and Chadli behind him.

We could do really well, if the manager would just pick the best team for PL matches, but he hasn't and Tim wouldn't (playing Eriksen in midfield with Bentaleb) and before that avb couldn't (lamela injured).. So infuriating. Except they're all fit this time and still we see our weakest cb playing.

Whilst I agree Ade was poor, what has Soldado ever done at Spurs to suggest he would be any better?

Lloris is only here because his wife likes living in London, he must really love his wife.

Because I wouldn't stand for this shit if I was Hugo.

In midweek the excuse was a bumpy pitch and hostile atmostphere......today we were at home pretty much injury free against a winless club.

The rot runs deep and two or three more performances like this and we all know the end game.

Pointless ENIC building a new stadium when they need to build a new team.

That was a shockingly poor performance. We never looked like scoring. But we haven't addressed a fundamental problem: our sideways passing uncreative midfield centre. We were predictable and boring.

And on a separate note, I'm fed up with seeing our second choice back 4 starting every prem match. No Walker, Vertonghen, Fazio or Davies. What did we spend £18 million on in Davies and Fazio? Benchwarmers? And ok Walker is injured but what about Vertonghen? No wonder we're giving away stupid goals.

I'm not desperate for us to be shit but that was utterly painful to endure. You've been slating Southampton and hoped they'd disappear and be finished as a club. Look at them now. Playing great football again with half their squad going in the summer. New manager, new players, not made a difference at all and carried on where they left of last year.

But we've carried on exactly the same.

There's no defending that performance today. Shameful and rightly booed off by the entire ground.
I haven't defended that performance at all, totally unacceptable.

I absolutely disagree that we are in the track we were in last year.

If people want to come at me and say "see, look, poch is just as bad", take it somewhere else. Not interested.

Therefore, how do you change the mentality - is it something you can coach?
This is a very good question. Take United. Moyes wasn't the best manager, but it really shocked me how bad they were under him. Similarly, LvG has had probably one of the best managerial career of any manager in football, but the complete disaster that is his reign at Man U suggests that the problem is with the mentality of the players at Man U. I genuinely think we are suffering from the same sort of problem.

Poch I hope will come good but I am amazed that he made Kaboul captain when for most of us the verdict is out on his ability still to play at the highest level. Then Ade as a vice-captain? Seems like very dodgy leadership to me

Heads gone massively. Not the manager, not the chairman, not the fans, it's the fucking players. You can sack whoever you want but it's the ****s on the green bit that have to take responsibility

One good performance against a frankly garbage QPR and we were raving. It's simply not good enough and it's the same old shite we've been treated to again.

Last week we got served up not finishing the game off and being punished, the week before smashed against a rival again (who are still not great), struggling against the team bottom of the league (for a reason), at home and looking a shower of shite. Another set piece conceded. We literally see it every season.

Hundreds of millions of talent in the squad and it's all shite. We continue to support and protect the players but they need calling out now. THEY aren't good enough, no excuses. Step up or piss off.

Can't blame the EL considering none of the outfield players started midweek. Absolute rubbish yet again.

Why buy a successful defender (albeit in Spain) and then leave him out of the squad for the chuckle brothers. Kaboul is past it and Vlad isn't good enough

Re

reduce expectations? Fuck me this is West Brom at home and a shit west Brom at that how much lower should our expectations be?
So you're pissed off that we lost because the mighty yids are somehow entitled to win?

A pretty good collection of players had a bad day. Currently, they're neither amazing as a team nor as individuals. It's the hope that kills you. Reduce expectations (y)

The encouraging thing is we bought more average players in the window to add to all the average. Years behind now. How depressing it is supporting this dross.
how do we know that though, they've barely kicked a ball, poch seems to want to play dross like kaboul, and if he was happy to let lennon go qpr, why does he keep turning to him?

absolutely disgraceful.......poch needs to fire a rocket up everyones arse. If Ade starts next week then Poch needs to fucking think again, the guy offers no movement, no link up play, he is shite in the air for a giant and his all round effort is just a joke.

the centre back pairing need a change. Verts must be the first one on the team sheet in defence and i would probably play Dier with him and play naught on right back.

our creativity in midfield is just shambolic, i know its difficult when the forwards do not move but ffs at least try something different......everything is narrow narrow narrow and teams just suck it up against us and then kill us on the break.

Having 70% possession means fuck all if you don't do anything with it......1 shot on target all game

don't know whether to cry or laugh.........today was just utter bollox and was no different to post europa league performances under AVB, Harry and co so something tells me that these bunch of overpaid wankers that wear the shirt week in week out are just useless as 3 different manager season after season can't all be wrong surely?

Only 5 games in under a new coach and the same players don't even look any different to last year. No fight, no effort, no creativity. We just have a bang average squad full of overpaid rubbish. It's not Poch's fault, as usual didn't get the players he wanted, Levy didn't support him. 1 of his signings started today and it wasn't even his signing he admitted.

We keep conceding from set pieces. That's the coaches fault. This squad should beat WBA at home & we'd have won at Sunderland under avb. No point sacking the coach but he isn't making a great start

the most disappointing thing is we couls have put some daylight between us and man utd/liverpool. Poor performance all round, but how adebayor can be worth what he s being paid is beyond me. he makes pathetic token jumps against defenders and the ball comes straight back at us. The free header was harder to miss. Never liked the guy even when he was playing well because we all knew he would lose interest. Watched vardy at leicester today, he probably has a quarter of adebayors ability but ran his socks and did nt let defenders settle.
