At the moment 3 points from a PL game however they arrive is welcome but let's be under no illusions we will have to improve significantly if we are to repeat that feat next week at home to Everton and as for the next away fixture at Chelsea we will have to improve our current form beyond recognition if we have any chane to taking a point from that game, never mind 3. Playing against 10 men away at Chelsea hmmm we would probably need them to be reduced to 7 or 8 and we will need 5 buses in front of our goal to shut them out!!!! I shudder to think about what Costa and Hazard will make of our paper thin defensive rearguard and as for putting crosses and corners in with Cahill and Terry attacking them it does not bear contemplating how we will deal with them.

7.5 for Poch -- he made useful substitutions and leaving capoue out was overdue, but a good move. might have rated a 9 if he had started stambouli instead of dembele.

don't get me wrong, I have always liked dembele, but he's not a holding/combative centre mid - a real need with a real "attack only front 4.". truly a shame that his hip is such a hinderance

I think davies keeps LB now for a run to see if he cements it as his own. I think he will, but time will tell.

what is the deal with kaboul? commentator said he was left out for "personal" reasons? does anyone have details on this?

I think we can put in a similar performance at Chelsea as we did at the Emirates. I don't think we'll get anything mind.

Everton I think we could do with playing on the counter - we need to start from scratch at home to stop the rot.

Loved Vertonghen's reaction after the goal, telling the fans not to rush on the pitch. Then giving a fist pump.

Dude, their legs weren't tangled, Verts could have walked straight past him without touching him but instead actively pushes his knee into his ass.

That's what prompted a reaction from Ramirez, so why everyone is acting like Verts is some innocent party in this just shows people see what they want to see.

It's called bias.

Thanks for the spam rating @mattstev2000 really compelling stuff

I hadn't even read your post until you tagged me just now, so presumably I hit that while scrolling.

Having now read it, I've changed it to a disagree for you because you're clearly being way to hard on Verts.

Looked to me like Gaston had a flailing foot, Vertonghen put his hand on it to let him know he was there so Vertonghen didn't get kicked. Gaston then moved his foot, possibly accidentally, Vertonghen then pushed past him and that's when Gaston reacted. It also looks like Gaston punched Vertonghen in the arse cheek lol.

Why am I being 'hard on' Jan?

You think he didn't wind up Ramirez on purpose?

Come on Verts was clearly not innocent there, lol. Mason was riling them up all game too, LOVE IT! Feel like we've been the "good guys" for far too long, time to give some back.

I can't bear to watch our players behave like this. It's bad enough that we are rubbish, without having to put up with Vertonghen's dying swan act. Spurs are embarrassing at the moment in both our conduct and our general play.

This was such a travesty of justice I am sure that Steve Bruce will appeal this red card to prove he is not a hypocrite.

He certainly will also issue a club fine on Robbie Brady who was writhing on the floor in agony but with a big smile on his face to make sure Dier got a booking.

I Believe its about time we came into the real world of football we have been Nice guys for too long and suffered because of it.
Most of the worlds best ever teams nationaly and internationaly indulge in the dark arts to gain an advantage, poch being from argentina will know all about this as they are one of the best or worst culprits depending on your view.
I say bring it on as Long as We continue to win.

Ultimately behaving like this will win us nothing as everybody else is doing it too. Sooner or later you have to ask yourself what is the point? I'm not sure personally that any victory gained in the style of the Villa and Hull games has value at all.

If this is the future of Tottenham Hotspur then I could not bear to watch. We will be an upper mid-table feeder club behaving like cheats to get other players sent off. What do we gain?

The way I see, it's a winning mentality.. yes it's not pretty, and we hate the uglier side of the game as Spurs fans, but we've been far too soft for such a long time. Other teams know we are soft, pundits know we are soft, fans know we are soft.

Fuck them, lets be ****s about it all. Mason, is brilliant, always in peoples faces, always moaning at the ref, nibbling at players - good. It puts people off their game, and these little parts to the game always help.

All the top teams do it, with success. United, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, Liverpool... all have that ugly side... about time we are starting to join them.
