I have to say, I have found Martinez's post match interviews absolutely pathetic. I didn't realize he was like this at all.

He's now claiming Kane's tackle on Barry was a foul. I mean seriously, this is getting embarrassing. And he keeps saying how lucky our goals were o_O

Well done Lawro/JJ for confirming Martinez talking sh1te!

This was the game where every thing came together. First time, we had a back line who were communicating with each other & all were on same page. Vald-Fazio-Jan-Davies were solid. Tbh, once we went ahead, I always knew we arent going to concede anymore.

Mason-Bentaleb - I said this after Partizan game. This is the duo for our midfield. It may need another enforcer like Stam if we are playing some like Chelsea. But these 2 have to play regardless. In current squad, they are the only CMs who can play one touch football & look to password always.

Lennon & Eriksen in wings - Changed the way we play completely. Instead of all midfielders within 5 yards of each other, both of them played a typical winger. At any time, we only had Mason & Nabil in centre circle unlike previous game where everyone stands near each other. Lennon once again trying everything possible to not to get transferred by another Tottenham manager.

Kane - what can I say ? He is improving so fast , its scary. Its scary, in a good way. Even his free kick technique against Partizan , I can say he is mastering Ronaldo/Bale technique & putting hours into it. He is shutting the mouth of people who said he isnt technical enough. Kane can win aerial balls, can link up players, drive through defense, make intelligent runs ,make tackles & of course score. He is almost doing what Rooney is doing at United.

How is the Faz decision even debatable? Where the fuck are his arms supposed to be? Not only that, but it deflects off Lukaku and changes the direction of the ball...how could he possibly avoid it?!

Don't think it was a pen. Agree with Ghodd

Just watch the replay when bobby scored. Everyone on the touch line were jumping with joy only one player just sat there Kabul. Now that does not look right. Club captain not showing any passion. I just hope we get rid of all these big head players who are not clearly up for this level

True - well this season, anyway. But 'get the fuck away from our club' is no way to speak about any spurs player.

Well every now and then you have to change the rules for a player who gives nothing but negative vibes back. As soon as he finished that successful loan season he was a problem, with his drawn out demands and late signing to not being fit at the end of it all and poor form, poor effort, falling out with coaches, coming back late from ACN, more poor form and moodiness, all the while collecting 100k a week?

And now his ma has him cursed? Enough is enough. I forgive the original poster but even if Ade is clinically depressed (for which he would get my sympathies) and finds a cure he should not be in our dressing room ever again. Very very bad signing at the end of the day and many on here called it at the time.

Whilst the team's effort and energy should be applauded, I'll caveat it by saying I thought Everton looked a pretty average team. Very blunt in possession and although we strangled the space well for large parts of the game they lacked ideas. Off the ball they were also pretty poor I felt, especially when you compared them against our efforts, minimal pressing and a lot of space between the lines. Then you had strugglers like Distin, who after many years now looks finished at this level.

They came into this game off the back of a good run and good result - a confident and compact team. They looked quite good until we took the bull by the horns after they scored. Our high press/high tempo put them out of their stride - in effect, we didn't let them play well.

Why people saying we played 442 ?? I think it`s 4231 always with Kane playing chalk role....I think it will be tough for chadli now to get into the squad

Dreadful captain, average player, HUGE HEAD. He was probably upset that it wasn't Ade on the field and that Poch has discovered what a fraud he is.

Chadli was injured last week, wasn't he? I reckon he needs a spot considering how many goals he's scored. A good option for up front too. When Walker gets back, we won't need Lennon.

Gfy I made earlier, I didn't post it until post-match as it was too large to upload and stream on the same pc :)

It's real time goal + celebration, alternate angles, and the bench's reaction of Soldado's goal.

Watching the bench react is interesting, I didn't really look at it until now. It looks like Paulinho was super excited, whereas Kaboul doesn't seem to give a shit.

Agreed. Poch would be daft to mess with the team selection when thing are finally starting to work out. Chadli will get plenty of playing time in Europa league though.

We probably wont get anything at Chelsea. realistically.

I would be tempted to rest Kane and couple of others and bring on the dipsticks. With something to prove and a raised bar they might just pull something off as is often the case with our mate ade.

and if they dont. fuck em. point proved

Chelsea are obviously going to be clear favourites. But I wouldn't abandon all hope just yet. I wasn't as surprised by today's performance as some - I had just come off another thread where I made a post to the effect that Pochettino isn't just flopping at implementing his methods. He is having to adjust to a totally different set of assumptions and a totally different set of problems. At Southampton it would have been quite unusual for teams to shut up shop. With us, for a long time now (perhaps ever since we biatched Wigan 9 - 1), the majority of clubs have treated us more as a team to shut up shop against, play for a draw, and hope for a break-away goal. Mr Redknapp had to cope with that - and didn't always. AVB tried and failed.

Today, we were playing a confident team coming off the back of a good run and good result, who are our direct rivals. I expected them to come out and play, and they did. Poch's default tactics are well suited to that. Against Chelsea, we will be facing the league leaders and they are at home. If we get a good performance but lose it won't be the end of the World. I think we can do that. And maybe...

Anyway, I would pretty much go with the same team, I think. Harsh on players like Chadli - but I don't think anyone really deserves to be dropped based on today's perfromance. Unless, maybe, Walker is ready to return.

Fuck it, stick with what we had today. There are quite a few local boys in there. If walker or naughton can be back, even better. They won't do the club wrong, and will at least fight for the badge while on the pitch.
