I thought that was Vlads fault as much as Lennons, he's a defender and just watches one of the world's top players waltz past him in the box.

Agreed. However, going with the flow of play it looked like Vlad thought Azza was tracking him and given Lennon was already chasing it seemed the right thing to. Vlad was facing the play and would never have caught Hazard who was skipping past the back line.

They were both at fault for not communicating though and just letting him through one on one with Hugo.

I didn't see it, but Mourinho's "the result was unfair on spurs" stuff reminds me of Ferguson with Jol. Managers are only that nice when their team is way better than yours. We know that, at this point in time, but I hate that faux nicey bollocks
Yep! Sees us a no threat whatsoever! Nice spurs who look tidy and lovely on the ball and flatter to deceive. Never gonna be a threat to us so let's build em up

Hugo's mistake ruined us unfortunately. There was no coming back from 2-0 down.

Still a great finish by the Drog though...

Yeah Vlad could have done more, but that was a stunning mistake for a professional level winger. In that situation, a give and go was the very obvious intent, and especially when Hazard created it. Lennon had to know that was coming, and what to do to prevent it. All he had to do was disrupt that run somewhat, or even eliminate the shot angle, and that goal could've been prevented.

Kane was good, Bentaleb was good. We're showing signs of excellence despite a tanking. Let's hope this doesn't result in things getting changed up too much, I think we should stick with it and come out all guns blazing for the next match. We just played an outrageously good side and given our style its going to be win or get tanked. We're not going to park the bus and steal a win against sides like this.

True, either way it was simply too easy. There's no way the most basic of one-two should get you in on goal like that. For example I can't think of the last time a simple move like this has got us a shot on goal let alone an actual goal. Very disappointing goal to concede.

& Verts got properly mugged for the third.

Tut, tut, tut.

Remy is exactly the type of player we don't have, now he just wastes on Chelsea bench. We could have signed him on at least 2 occasions, when he went Qpr and then on loan to Newcastle. Missed opportunity as we chased and bought the wrong players as usual.

Why have dier, naughton and kaboul all in the bench btw !?? Wtf !? Stambouli and dembele anyone !??

Why not? Do you really think Dier, Naughton and Kaboul would have been vastly better than Fazio, Vertonghen and Chiriches? Stambouli or Dembélé might have been better than Lamela, in the sense that they would theoretically have provided better protection for our CBs. Who knows? We could have tried that and the result might still have been the same.

Was tonight's performance any advance on last season's showing, though?
