I didnt think he was fantastic.
I didnt think he was shit.

I thought he worked tirelessly. A couple of his presses and putting his foot in set off our better counter attacks. Him and Kane seem to at least try and implement a semblance of Pochs philosophy,

It was his first game with Walker, a defender who will suit Lamelas game. That could blossom.

I think he was as good or better than Mason, Bentaleb and Soldado.

Love Soldado, but think it should be him to make way and not Lamela at this moment in time.
I've never seen a spurs player give up the ball so many times in one game of football. It was embarrasing

Not too concerned about how we performed today, we got three points against a difficult side. The lessons I learnt today were that Poch can make effective substitutions, and that Soldado is totally inept at this level.

I seen kane more than most on this forum bar one or two, as the striker he does get isolated

I actually think he had a poor game today, as the the AM 3 was useless and couldn't keep the ball left both the striker and CM isolated
Who are the one or two?

Can't wait to see a fully-fit Walker combining with Lamela. I thought Erik was poor offensively today but I just suspect that the little bit of space an overlapping Walker will give him will change his fortunes somewhat.

Eriksen my MOTM - kept going to the end and plenty of delicious touches. Central mid a little anonymous today and a few brain farts all over the pitch.

I think the frustration is we want to play like Swansea. But we play like Stoke of old. We aren't classy enough at the moment. Yes we have won. And yes. I'll take it. But watching tottenham is no fun at the moment. And hasn't been since Bale left.

Playing away at Swansea in the driving rain and coming away with three points is a fantastic result no matter how disappointing the performance. I'm not sure what people were expecting with that set of players, in those conditions, but I certainly wasn't expecting us to rock up like Barca and pass them off the pitch. We're poor, the squad is poor. No manager, however gifted, will be able to mask the glaring lack of pace, creativity, and general quality at Spurs atm. If Poch doesn’t take any great credit for the win, he certainly doesn't deserve any great criticism either.

Fantastic analysis.

Surprised youre not employed to do it for a living.

So very constructive, non sensationalist and balanced.

Why even ask for an opinion?

And, also, you clearly would have seen a player give the ball away more than Lamela today-unless you have watched very little of Spurs. But I dont think thats the case.

I don't have an agenda against Eriksen, I just find it hilarious that 99% of Spurs fans think this guy is gods gift to football. His set pieces are generally poor, if you throw enough shit, eventually some will stick. He needs to work on beating the first man.

His defensive workrate is worse than Lamela's and offensively today before the 85th min he offered basically nothing. Yet everyone thinks he's fucking amazing? I get that he's a good player, bags of ability and potential etc etc but I just find it amusing and strange how brown everyones nose is. I also get that you are crying out for a stand-out player and that he has the potential to be this, but Kane offered far more today than Eriksen.

This is such a strange post.

I have to disagree on Mason and Bentaleb with the hard working bit. Barely even noticed they were playing.

Have to agree, at best our central midfield was pedestrian, no real flair, vision or intelligence, they played some ill considered passes to players getting closed rather than other options with space and didn't exactly provide the defence with any great protection. They are willing workers but limited in what they offer
That said I think playing only two in CM places a big burden on whatever two players even players we don't have.
I actually enjoyed Stambouli's cameo, at least he seemed to use a bit of intelligence in his passing and a desire to get the ball forward

After the game on Thursday night, all you did was come out with jokes against Tottenham. But its the same point I was trying to make in the opening pages of this thread, that we've a better mindset on the road these days - yet you get people nitpicking over this shit.

Were we great? No. But we've more about us these days to come away with a win. If you can't welcome that Jesus Christ. And its no coincidence now.

What's the alternative? Analyse how ineffectual Pochettino has been in implementing his approach? Sometimes the only solution is to try and find humour in the mess we're in.

No we weren't great today. We weren't average either. We were incredibly poor. Again.

Of course I wanted us to win - I always do. I tell you what though, I would have been a lot happier if we'd drawn/lost but played well, as it would be far more encouraging in terms of Pochettino's future at the club. Games can be won or lost due to individual abilities, but overall performances are a reflection of the manager. What signs were there today that Pochettino is improving this team? It was a lucky win. I'll credit some of the players for having the ability to keep going, but Pochettino's influence essentially had Swansea ending the game as extremely unlucky not to take all the points.

if only pl games can be watched in "tactical" view as well...

those who play the game will know that in this sort of game when the ball moves so quickly, the centre mids are the ones who will have to burst from area to area, covering space and players... a lot of this work is not caught on camera which focuses on where the ball is and therefore only players near the ball can be seen.

that's usually the key difference between watching on telly vs watching live... you really start to see who is static and who is mobile.

Not deserved at all but a fabulous win

Kane was outstanding all game, Eriksen is top class and has to be played as the Number 10 behind Kane

Dembele played a role when he came on

Lamela and Soldado are both lost causes and need to be upgraded

Defensively we were poor and Lloris once again saved us

Walker was a real positive to see back

Finally figured out Poch's tactics - he's gone for the Ali/Foreman rope a dope again

How old is Lemela ? It is too early to give up on him. This is really is first proper season in the premiership since he got injured very early in Spurs career as a result he hardly played last year.
