Take note. We've had halves like this in the season, where we've clearly dominated and easily looked the better side yet have gone into the break either level or only a single goal up, with multiple chances wasted. United have made the most of it and have potentially shut the game out in one half. We need to learn to do that.

Kane and Dembele/Eriksen are having to do all the pressing because Mason/Bentaleb are so deep. However, somehow Mason/Bentaleb aren't marking anyone and still get beat by someone every time though.

That's part of why I detest the double pivot. Offers too little support for the attacking mids and striker, and there isn't a dedicated defensive mid in there whose job it is to snuff out passes/mark an advanced man. Symmetry is not balance, and the space it leaves across the front line is just not good. Does more defensive harm than good IMO.

If we can get one back early in the second half then I think the united nerves will kick in and we may be able to keep this down to About 5-1

Played golf today. Got home at half 3. Straight down the pub for the match. Wife double pissed off. I'll be fucked if I'm going home to a miserable old woman after this dross. It could end in a 'terrible accident'.

Tactically we are just mediocre though. We are still chasing about like fucking idiots. Its too late now but they should have had the brains to sit back in a 4-4-1-1, be compact and soak up pressure. Instead we are getting cut through at ease.

Another game though where we have gone away to a big team, tried to impose our game, been open in some sort of 4-2-3-1/4-2-4 and got our pants pulled down. When will we ever learn?

We wont because Our manager is still fairly inexperienced like the team he is very naive and lacking a bit.

The two are nowhere near as good as they are being made out to be. Bentaleb could be, mind.

Mason, however, offers nothing. In my opinion.

Don't think it matters what he does?

The players are just not up to standard!

Can't agree with that, sorry. A better manager would at least set up a team with more defensive know how that Poch sends this lot out with every fucking game.
