Why didn't Son stay out wide left after the second goal. It worked. Then he was all over the place.

11 v 11 I think we get the result to take us through. We gave away both the goals we conceded but we dominated the match. All in all our European performances this season have been shocking but this was one of our better ones and both Kane and Son should have taken their chance and we'd have been through.

On the bright side, at least the fixture list gets a little less congested.

I can't fault our desire and yes we dominated, but football ( and sport in general) is all about moments.

And in the crucial moments in attack we were wasteful and lacked intelligence and quality ( didn't really force their keeper to make a save) and poor defending at the other end when called upon.

In. They allow five teams per nation now.

However, if we finish 4th, United win EL and finish below us, AND Leicester win CL, we're fucked again.

If that happens then we know for sure that the football gods hate us and we might as well start following a different sport.

We responded excellently for a while and it culiminated in Wanyama's goal. Then as soon as it went in we lost all intensity despite still being behind on aggregate. Dont understand the mentality there.

Let's face it, Kane was poor today, and he too has been for some time prior to his hat-trick last week..

Always wanted to him to do well but when he's not, he deserves some sticks, especially other similarly poor players like Davies and Dier tonight would have thought to be the ones scoring own an own goal each judging from the flak they gotten here ffs..

How many saves did their keeper make?

I don't really classify a keeper doing his job as lucky, but whether you do or not that doesn't nullify the fact we totally dominated a well organised team and that two key decisions went the wrong way. Yes it was a red but play should have been stopped.

I think Poch has to take most of the blame. His approach to cup games MUST give the players mixed messages! That doesn't excuse the players though, either they want to win trophies or they don't, too many performances suggest they're too bothered.

Pure guess work

We're an absolute joke of a football club. I just pray when the new stadium opens its like a new club and fresh start.
Every year we find new ways to fuck things up. Whenever it matters we blow it in the end. Until the whole DNA of the club changes we ain't ever gonna win anything other than the odd league cup.

Not a chance if Man Utd had our team would they not be getting to the Europa league final this year. We could probably have Messi and Ronaldo in their prime and find a way to end season with nothing. I don't blame the players or manger, it's been same shit for years and years and it'll carry on. Over 25 years we've become a failure of a club and it'll continue until we somehow find a way to change it.

I mean I understand hating the performance but that is a bit over the top....

I replied to that post in full detail. Your silence was deafening.

As for Son's performance, please explain to me how one comment about a poor finish infers I thought he wasn't good when he came on?

Listen, Slot my man. I'm trying to help you. Others are totally beyond help but you can be rescued from the cult you've got yourself involved in. I'm trying to make you understand you're seeing the world through a clouded lens and it's making you unable to see what a wonderful player Son is. All you see is the negative. The positive has been brainwashed out of you. It's not too late.

Couldn't agree more.walker had so many chances tonight and failed to find a white shirt with near enough all of them.
And when he passes to the opposition/kicks it out he follows it up by needlessly pushing the opponent over. Great athlete. Awful footballer.

I hope the amount of energy we expended on that doesn't cost us on Sunday, especially considering it was for fuck all in the end..
