dawson is better than king ever was already. i know he's our captain but please, grow some eyes!

It's difficult to imagine how anyone could watch these two very good players and come to this conclusion.

Dawson: big-hearted, powerful, inexperienced, puts his body on the line and fights for the team, great header of the ball, but only in defensive situations, makes a lot of quite bad mistakes and has the luck to get away with many of them (unlike Tony Gardner).

King: unparalleled anticipation, great pace for a defender, such amazing tackling technique that he virtually never gets a yellow card and rarely even commits a foul, passing ability of a decent midfielder, quiet leadership ability, loyalty and good game-reading ability.

Dawson is an exciting young player with huge promise and a lot still to learn. King is a top international defender at the peak of his powers (when he's healthy) and arguably the best CB in England.

Not even close.

Daily Mail:

As Robinson spoke, the Spurs board were trying to fend off United's £21million offer for Berbatov. All offers have been rebuffed so far and Spurs put a £40m price tag on the 6ft 2in forward. But Ferguson is determined to add another striker to his squad following Wayne Rooney's broken foot and specifically wants someone who can add a taller, physical presence. Scouts from across Europe were called into United's Carrington training ground last week for a briefing and Ferguson has started with Berbatov, who was regarded as one of the Premier League's outstanding performers last season with 19 goals in all competitions.

If Berbatov feels unhappy, maybe it's better to accept the offer.

As Dougal says, I can't imagine any of the players are particularly happy with the clubs performance on or off the pitch at the moment but that's hardly a reason to sell them. Even if Berbatov wanted to go can you imagine the fans reaction if we sold him now? We are under no obligation to sell and he still has a few years on his contract, unlike the Carrick situation.
