We sold Walker to City, so that is rubbish.

Was there not reports we wanted Sancho and they messed us about and then refused to sell him to an English team?

If that is true then that might be why Levy wasn't going to budge on what he wanted.

Read somewhere that someone at Man City who dealt with Levy during the Kyle Walker transfer said that it was "like finding blood in your p*ss" :ROFLMAO:.
This Kane one probably multiplied the pain 3 times, but I think he just told them to bugger off until they could come up with a realistic offer.
Well done DL for standing firm and sticking up for the club and the fans. All the fannies on Talksport and Sky will no doubt come out with their familiar drivel and hand wringing but who cares.

From Arsemania

From May onwards

The absolute scenes when they miss out on Europe, have a mountain of debt to pay back and their fans demand that Jose is sacked but the club just can't afford to do it because of the payout they'd need to give him. This is the perfect storm that many on here predicted.
Imagine their fans next season when they've sold Son and Kane to " balance the books, and manage their debts " but they're still stuck with Mourinho

Kane has 3 years in contract, Son has 2 years. They likely have to sell Son, and I'm not surprised if he wants out.

Harry Kane's agent doesn't get enough criticism. His contract runs till 2024 and apparently the last extension was in 2016. What the hell was he signing such a long extension for? He now has a client achieving well below what he should be achieving and who will turn 28 this summer, and whom no one can buy because he's too expensive with too long on his contract. (y)

Doubt they'll spend the money to fire Jose, at least not this season.

Any good DOF won't be joining Sp**s as long levy is thier owner.

With how many ankle injuries Kane suffers, it's curious how he always comes back in half the time expected. If he has a repetitive problem it should take longer to heal. Makes you wonder if he's doing something dodgy.

Kane at Chelsea? At City? Sp**s fans in epic meltdown! Hmmm... ??

And just like that, they're back into mediocrity for the next few years at least. Can't see son staying of Kane leaves unless Levy offers him a ridiculous contract which ain't happening.

Do we make a bid? If we have 250M to spend why not?

Hairspray busy calculating if we can afford both Kane and Grealish ( Along with 17 other players) from our Kroenke war chest

I think we might actually get Grealish. Meanwhile, lololololololololololololololololololol at Sp**s.

Wait, what if sp*rs buy Grealish with the Kane money?!?!

Levy said a month back that he wouldn't sell Kane to another PL club, but I didn't believe him.

As expected, Kane and probably Son as well are leaving Sp**s. Sp**s has always been a stepping stone for big players so that they can eventually move on to a big club where they can win titles.

think it’s more than likely that Son are gonna leave Sp**s this summer. Bayern are reportedly after him.

They know their time in the sun is over - star player is fed up and wants out, possibly no European football and a huge stadium debt to be paid back. Unless they can get an incredible manager in, you feel like they’re in the **** now!

The thing getting lost in all this is that Son's contract expires in 2023. He's at the so called 2 year juncture. He will be watching things closely. I'd be very surprised if he signs an extension. It has Erikson written all over it.

If Sp**s gets players plus cash for Kane, that isn’t as devastating a loss. Hudson Odoi/Tammy Abraham plus cash being speculated if it’s Chelsea. Those are two very very good young players.

Kane with a 1 hour interview with Neville. He is basically begging city to come and get him. This is embarrassing

Levy has probably been planning a sale for quite some time and definitely won't be too unhappy about what is already being put on the table as clubs compete for Kane.

We can still have the ultimate laugh of St Totteringham’s day on Sunday. It’s been too long. One game to go and we’re in with a shout.

So if Arteta finishes below a Tottenham that doesn't have Kane, does he get the sack?

Let's all still laugh at Tottenham. We're having our worst season in 25 years and they are only a point ahead and could possibly overtake them on the last day

Gooner itk:
I've been told that certain share owners of Tottenham have not been happy with Levy and want to see him replaced. Majority owner doesn't want that but there may be a shake-up. Kane will most likely stay at Tottenham for another season. (June 2nd)

No CL, best player wants to leave and no oil money owner yet they're still targetting the best manager (Conte) available on the market whilst we put our tail between our legs and accept our falling into mediocrity. We can all laugh about the lack of trophies but let's face it, Sp**s have at least tried to behave like a big club far more than us in the last 10 or so years.

look like Paratici joining Sp**s even if conte not join. i really don't know about this appointment most of his dealings at Juve ended up badly.

I've never been quick to praise or hype up Sp**s as it is, but I promise you they're absolutely ****ed now. This is a cross-roads moment.
New manager not convincing Kane, if anything it reinforces his desire to leave. He'll look at it and think "ah I see we're going for the 2-3 year rebuilding project again, no thanks". Add to that they're probably not gonna be seriously backed financially to the degree that'll make them anyway competitive.

We can honestly breath a sigh of relief now as Sp**s won't be competitive for the foreseeable future. Now if only we can get our own act together. Won't hold my breath.

Good. St totteringham's day will come early next year. Even with Arteta.

Apparently Nuno Santo is now becoming the leading candidate.

Horrendous appointment, will be even more embarrassing when we finish below them again.

Good appointment... for us

Son seems perfect for Nuno, the CMs group a good fit + reunited with Doherty just a hard task to sign the right striker & a couple of CBs with the Kane money

Kane almost single handedly gave Sp**s relevancy as a club. He’s the one thing separating them from Everton.

Getting Son on a new contract was a great move. They should sell Kane and build around son, watching him at the Euros he looks like he's gonna be a finished player soon.

Kane not shown up for training today

Kane vs levy….we deserve an exciting last month of the window. Daaamn Mr Tottenham Kane the gentleman refusing to train

Not surprised. The guy has Arsenal DNA.

Reminds me a lot of the Fabregas situation when he left us. Kane kicking up a fuss will give him the leverage he needs … City basically forcing Sp**s to accept a lower fee or have an unhappy player on their books.

Heard they stripped Kane of his Audi Cup winners medal, heartless.

They’ll sell if the bid is big enough. Levy can’t sell for less than 150M.

Can’t be having Sp**s with 160m to rebuild they shop in the same tier as we do. Very interesting to see how Levy handles this he typically gets the full price for their top players.

Signing a 6 year deal was such a mistake by Kane. He tied himself to the club and now he cannot get away without starting this ****show!

Think Sp**s will accept a much lower fee for him than they expect like we did with Cesc. Having an unhappy player stinking the place out will just create further rifts within their team.

I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that this treachery would happen to the spuds. Especially from "One of their own". They're going nowhere a lot faster than we are

Their signings don't inspire a lot of confidence either. They're all getting giddy over a geezer called Brian and a midget CB from Itay. This Patrici bloke gives the off the vibe of one of these chancers that come into the league, spend a load of money on these "hidden gems" from abroad to get the fans onside, then buggers off after a year when it all inevitably goes tits up.

Kane reporting back for training this week, in proper Sp**s fashion he bottled it…

Kane will still leave it needed Modric Bale and Berbatov to go on strike for levy to let them leave.

£160m is a complete joke. No way he is worth that, especially with his wobbly ankles.

As Arsenal fans we hope this saga drags on and never concludes for various reasons:

- It alienates Kane and Sp**s fans even more
- Kane will not have the same super form under a downright average manager in Nuno
- It blocks any new transfer plans they have
- It probably disrupts their plans for stadium debts

If City pull out at last minute, it will be hilarious for these and many other reasons.

Kane has already shown incredibly loyalty to Sp**s by staying on for so long. Can’t imagine any of our big players staying at the club for so long without any trophies. It’s his own fault for signing a 6 year contract.

So is Kane staying we think? Don’t see else he would backtrack. I don’t know. Don’t see why City won’t pay his fee if they are willing to go 100M for Grealish so easily.

Kane Stays

Sp*rs are pretty meh these days, but they have two world class forwards so they'll have a better season than we will. Long-term though they need to wean themselves off that partnership, this summer would have been the perfect time to do that but hey-ho. Hope Kane picks up a nasty ankle injury

Congrats to Levy, potentially made the league open for this season blocking this move. I guess Chelsea will end up winning it, but at least is not Pep's atrocious football again.

Funny one from Rawk – credit to the poster tbf….

In a fight between Levy on one side and the more gormless of the Kane brothers on the other, there was only ever going to be one winner. For Levy it's just another chance to show his badass power, for Kane its a cockup bigger than the cock up on the stadium roof.

"Are you angry at your agent for not getting you your move, Harry?"

"Nah, he ain't Levy, he's my brother"

It's a long, long road for him now

Bluemoon: "I don't know much about Daniel Levy but is it possible his unwillingness to let Kane go to City had something to do (tread carefully here) with his feelings about the ethnicity of MCFC's owners?"

What absolute racist twaddle

More anti-semetic in a round-about way.

"Of course daniel levy won't do business with the sheikh. It's cos he's a Jew innit".

Is that really anti-semitic? Is it not just saying that Jews and Arabs don't get along?

I know this isn't the place but I feel that the term anti-semitic is thrown about way too much. People are just wa****s generally and racism/sexism/homophobia etc are just vehicles through which they can express their wa****iness! That's not to diminish these issues, it's just to say that not every criticism of black people, Jewish people or gay people is racist, anti-semitic or homophobic.

I'm not Jewish, I'm mixed jamican and English, so please forgive my relative ignorance of the issue and any offence I may have caused as a result.

Good old Tottenham. Whacking Man City at the start of the season. Well now they've got to play us. Kane's back, Nuno's got them off to a flyer, Son's in great form and it's away. We don't stand a chance.

If he doesn't run away to Dubai, then Harry Kane, like all 'world-class forwards' loves a good goal against the 'Orns. Son, Quick, clinical and generally dangerous. Cathcart is shaking.

Let’s hope we are only playing Spurs and not VAR too this time !

This should be fun

I predicted a win at Brighton, so I’ll predict a big loss of 9-0, given that Spurs are better than Man C*ty

Never forget that we would have beaten Spurs last time we played them in the league if Deeney hadn't missed a penalty...

And at their place if VAR was working reliably.

Spurs really are not a good side. Take Kane and possibly Son away and they’re bang average. Spurs 0-2 Watford

No hope of a result in this game, but if Kucka is available, at least we'll be competitive. Without him the score could be a landslide. We got away with it at Brighton because they aren't too sharp going forward. No doubt this will be Kane's comeback game. He must be licking his lips having to duel with WTE, Kabs or Cathcart.

Must win game. End of discussion.

Indeed. A real 8 pointer. TH 3 WFC 0

Spurs and away. Don’t hold out much hope. Son always plays well against us.

I'm going to this - my daughter's first away game, I wish we weren't.

No doubt Kane will be fully fit and focused to play.

Is Kane's transfer to City definitely not happening? If he's still there hopefully Spurs fans will get on his back I fancy us for a draw or possibly even a win.

They seemed to cheer him on today apparently. Spurs have a European tie next week where they are 1-0 down so might have to field a strong team . Or face going out in typical Spurs manner .

This third euro comp could be spuds best chance of qualifying for Europe next season as the winners go into next years Europa league. So hopefully they field a stronger team than the one in Portugal and pick up some injuries. Gonna be a hard Sunday afternoon for that the golden boys.

Whilst I'm looking forward to a few post-match beers in London, I can't say I'm holding out too much hope for the game. Spurs rode their luck against Wolves, indeed, but I think they'll be strong at home this season and if Kane is in from the start it'll be a long afternoon for us. 3-0 Spurs.

I go back to NYC at 7am Monday morning. Yet I’m going to be spending my last few hours in the UK at Spurs watching our backline somehow cope with their strikers. Thank god it’s a long flight and I can spend 7-8hrs getting drunk for free trying to forget.

Lovely 'old school' paper tickets arrived this morning. Delivered by our cheerful, whistling postman (why don't more people whistle in public these days?). What a marvellous system Spurs have in place. Could Watford's ticket office adopt this simple and highly efficient technique for issuing tickets?

Gonna smash em. Who needs Kane when we've got Fletch

Harry Kane will be like a new signing, and with the euphoria of 60k fans bellowing support...

I'm expecting Kane to burst into tears on the pitch and start hitting himself on the head with a hammer now that he's realised Daniel Levy has just done him up the A with no lubricant. Less trophies than Capoue LOL.

We almost beat them a couple of years ago when we were gash. They're gash and have been for a while, another faux big club like Arsenal.

Looking forward to greeting Kane with a lusty rendition of 'f*** all, you're going to win f***all'

My tickets for Sunday are in the home end (long story). Last time I saw Watford at Spurs in the home end we won 5-1 so am insanely confident for this one

Is this the same Harry Kane that is about to earn 400k per week? Shurely shome mishtake Ed? The Harry Kane of last week wanted to win trophies and wouldn't be persuaded by huge wads of cash. I'm confused!

Given that the match is Sunday, Rose sliding in at left back could certainly happen as well, although they might be careful with his legs given his age.

Danny Rose is 31.

stone

And by many reports had to train his arse off to get in fighting trim. That makes him ripe for a muscle injury, so you need to watch what you do with him. Not saying it rules him out, but it could be a factor.

Tuesday was the first game he's played in over a year, good that he got 90 mins in, and I think he'll be better than Masina this season, but maybe we should be careful about his workload

At least Sunday won’t be Harold’s first start of the season, or indeed home appearance, as he’s starting in their European tie this evening.

And scores twice. Nice warm up for Sunday’s (horror?) show.
