Bringing over the two most recent entries on what City fans are saying from the locked thread as was generating discussion about what they were saying at the time of the locking;

@nicdic - your post from the now closed 20/21 thread:

Can't for the life of me understand the City fans moaning about free kicks and fouls, thought the ref was very generous to them on a number of occasions. Grealish and Sterling threw themselves on the deck at the slightest hint of contact. It was pathetic.

Completely agreed. They are complaining about Tanganga committing 5 or 6 fouls in the first half without being booked. But from my, admittedly distant, vantage point in the Park Lane, a good half of those fouls appeared to have been generously awarded. Grealish and Sterling went to ground very easily. Japhet was just stronger and more committed than them.

From Shed End:

Never rated son, despite his odd streak of goals.
Wanted Spurs to win their last PL game, finding myself wanting them to win this one. Feel sick.
Son has been crap
Spuds deserve that. The way City are set up reminds me of when Willian, Hazard and Costa destroyed them on the counter under Conte.
City were bang average. Spurs will be horrible to play against - just like wolves were.
They didn't need Grealish and spent £100m on him, they should have put all their budget towards getting Kane or Haaland
Shocking from City. Liverpool and United are going to pass them I feel this season.
Poor from City. Interesting to see if it’s just a slow start or something deeper. They started slow last year and came on strong from October time. One defeat won’t hurt them. Spurs did look like Wolves. They looked aggressive. It will be interesting to see how they get on this season. Also, the players need to get with the programme with the fans back. They’ve gotten used to life without them.
I'd rather have Son instead of Grealish, at least Son is looking to score meanwhile Grealish looks for the next free kick.
Don't know why Pep wants a 100m poor man's Hazard. Son is some player. In his prime. Still a c**t tho
Didn't watch it though pleased for Nuno and not too surprised as for me he was a counter-attacking manager at Wolves. It will be interesting to see how Pep's team react with new boy Jack. Also no Kane, another minor drama to play out, he might not get a game until Spurs go behind, still that might not too far away.
Nuno did a Jose on Pep, again. Regardless how good the build up is, need a striker to finish chances off, could see City struggle this season if they dont sort that out before the window closes. They didn't need Grealish, it's more of a statement signing than anything, since they knew signing Kane be almost impossible.
Saw the match - very similar to the UCL Final. Force them wide and defend crosses. dont thank Jack Grealish is the answer for city. I have never understood the hype around him. I think more than anything city needs a good DM who is more mobile than the options they have. They conceded goals like we generally do.

Aside from the normal rivalry comments, pretty much all spot on, especially the stuff about City not really needing Grealish.

I think that final comment about them needing a DM is dead-on too: poor Fernandinho is about 90 years old at this point, and we were absolutely slicing through them again and again on the counter because he was getting overwhelmed.

How have City spent so much money, and yet still have so many problem areas in their squad?!

The hilarious thing is that they spent 60 odd million on Rodri to try and replace Fernandinho two or three years ago, and he hasn’t come close to being as good as him in that position. They’re recruitment is bloody awful imo, they very rarely get value for money. Pep’s spent the best part of a billion pounds at City, and I reckon half of that has been wasted. The man is a fraud.

He's not a fraud, he's a world class coach, but he's no talent scout. I agree they're transfer business is very hit and miss.

How can any right-minded person call Son that?! They are surely the worst of all fans...

Everton fans hate him and have a thread dedicated to all the "snide" things hes done over his career going back to his Bundesliga days. They add things to it after every so called "episode". Weird bunch those scousers.

That stems from the tackle on Gomez which completely accidentally ended with him breaking his leg. You can understand why they feel bitter because of that one unfortunate moment, but for those of us who watch Son every game every season we know that he's a lovely character.

Some of those Chelsea fans are writing off City after one game.

I think that's a bit daft personally; didn't they have a slow start last season?

City were 13th after we'd beaten them last season. Ridiculous to even begin to speculate about the merest possibility of writing them off.
