Just read the BBC write up and it said we won with a superb counter attacking display! Can anyone tell me which of our goals was a counter attack not the first as we were all around their box, not the second which came from a Lloris long ball, not the last which we played out from the back and I'm not sure I'd count Son's second as a counter either. I think they mistake quick attacking for counter attacking.

Great result tonight, I’m off to my scratcher for an early night. Probably up early tomorrow, stick a brew on and watch match of the day that I’ve recorded. Have a good night folks ?

It was a shocking display of the most inconsistent and incompetent refereeing I've seen for a long time. Some of the tackles that were flying in from Villa players, during the first half in particular, were reckless, to say the least and others were intentional, yet somehow we finished the game with three cautions and AV finished with two - how the hell could that be possible? The assault on Kane by Young deserved a red card.

I think that’s what changed the game, our players suddenly stopped wanting the ball as it lead to GBH

The ref seemed harsh on our players

He literally did say those things but alright pal.
I heard every word. You have intentionally misquoted 2-3 of his points and distorted all the others, due to your hostile agenda toward Graeme Sourpuss.

I make a in life point of not letting my dislike for individuals induce me to misrepresent what they say. I strongly suggest you put in some practice doing the same.

Outstanding stuff today. I thought the ref did well and we benefitted from him not being overly officious. We had to stand up to them ourselves. Instead of whining to the ref for help, we had to man up. That's a big step forward for this lot, showing they didn't wilt in the face of well-coordinated aggression. Lloris was excellent in that onslaught too.

Such a huge step in the right direction. My bellwether of 5 league wins in a row could happen and be exceeded. First time since Poch. Sign of a serious team.

This is going to sound weird -so bear with me - but, in the first half, when Spurs were under siege, it felt different to me.

I have seen Spurs in similar situations when you just knew that the individual error was coming, and it would lead to a goal conceded. But, even though Villa kept pressuring the goal, and forcing Lloris into a few brilliant saves, it never felt like Spurs were out of control. It always felt, to me, like everyone was covering for everyone else well enough to withstand the pressure.

It was tense watching - but I never felt like the equalizer was imminent.

I felt the exact same. You are not alone.
