Welcome to the Aston Villa Vs Spurs Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

I expect Arsenal to beat Brighton, so in one sense I expect the pressure to be on us if we are to be 4th by this time next week
I expect us to win too, assuming we pick up no more injuries. I would prefer to see the west ham rather than Newcastle team, but hopefully either are good enough

Gooners will beat Brighton. Its the perfect style for them. Nice pretty team with no real end product. They've struggled against teams that make it physical and press and go long (Burnley, Brentford, Liverpool etc).

Second hardest fixture left for us this season IMO. Get this out of the way with a win and I think we'll do it.

Gooners are down to bare bones, so beating Brighton is no certainty, in fact if they play like they did against Palace, then Brighton will fancy their chances. Its down to grit and experience now and we should have more than Arsenal, but its football, so we still got to stick the ball in the back of the net.
Villa will be a good test, decent enough team, away from home, result will tell us a lot of where we are and what to expect over next 7/8 games, fancy us to beat them, but always have that nagging doubt of the whole lot not turning up on the day ala Burnley.

I, for one, think that scoring an early goal could well prove to be vital for us in this fixture.

I thought Arsenal played well, its just that Palace took their chances while Arsenal did not.

Did you watch the first half. Palace were far superior...Arsenal were absolutely bossed.

Second half they changed it, Palace tired and Arsenal controlled it without creating that much.

But played well? No way...even Alan Smith conceded it was a night to forget.

Hate to say it, but I can see them rampaging right through us “

This is the general tone on their forums. I guess to be expected after losing 3 on the spin. Personally I see this as one of our hardest remaining games. I’ve got it down as a draw and I’d be delighted if we take all 3 pts.

I think we have to fancy our chances against villa the team has belief.
But no game is ever easy so team will have to do the right things at the right time.
I didn't think the club would have a chance of fourth spot but with our recent good form and other clubs slipping up we have found a way in, we must not let this opportunity slide.

Want 4th-beat Villa-simple. Arsenal can do whatever they want.

Brighton are only just behind Southampton and Villa in the table-I was surprised when I looked. Brighton's problem is efforts on goal, Arsenal's problem, they are 3rd in the errors leading to goals table, so who know, can they mess up?
